Venture Capital CFO

The Role:

This is an executive level position responsible for all of the fund's financial and administration operations. The Venture Capital CFO plays a critical role in driving financial performance, managing investor relations, and shaping the strategic direction of the firm to achieve its investment objectives and maximize investor asset value. As a member of the management team, this position will provide overall leadership in financial matters, including budgeting, planning, systems integration, and reporting. This position will also be responsible for team leadership and development. This position will report to the Venture Capital Practice Leader.

This position is a full-time and/or part-time working as an employee of Kranz Consulting while providing consulting services to our clients. If you are a seasoned professional with excellent interpersonal skills coupled with strong expertise in Finance & Accounting, we are looking for you.

Job Responsibilities:

- Oversee all financial operations of the venture capital firm, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, capital calls, and distributions.

- Manage valuation processes for all direct and fund of fund investments

- Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate investment opportunities, assess portfolio performance, and assist with strategic decisions

- Manage relationships with LPs, communicate fund performance, and address investor inquiries or concerns

- Monitor cash flow, manage investments, and optimize financial resources to maximize returns for investors

- Assist with management company operations including payroll, benefits, insurance, and line of credit

- Work with tax provider on preparation and review of tax returns including K-1s

- Manage the audit process to ensure accurate and timely delivery of audit reports

- Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes that may impact investment strategies or fund operations

- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and reporting requirements

- Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning

- Set performance goals, provide feedback, and support career development initiatives to enhance team effectiveness and individual growth

Requirements:
• CPA required
• 15 + years of experience
• Experience in venture capital
• Public Accounting experience, preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Accounting or Finance degree required
• Extremely organized
• Hands on experience with working, training, and coaching staff
