Full Job Description
Reporting directly to the CEO and partnering closely with the Board of Directors, the Chief Financial Officer will serve as a strategic business partner responsible for the organization's financial health, operational excellence, and long-term growth. This is an opportunity for a mission-driven finance executive who enjoys balancing strategic leadership with hands-on financial management. While experience in the nonprofit sector is valued, candidates from private industry who bring strong financial leadership and strategic business experience are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic financial leadership to the CEO, Executive Team, and Board of Directors.
  • Lead all accounting, finance, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, cash flow, and financial reporting activities.
  • Develop and manage the organization's annual operating budget and long-range financial plan.
  • Oversee nonprofit accounting, fund accounting, grant compliance, and donor-restricted funds.
  • Monitor organizational cash flow, investments, banking relationships, and financial risk.
  • Strengthen internal controls and identify opportunities to improve financial processes and operational efficiencies.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team while fostering a collaborative, service-oriented culture.
  • Partner with Development and Program leaders to support grant reporting, fundraising initiatives, and strategic decision-making.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience.
  • Experience serving as a CFO, VP of Finance, Finance Director, or Controller with broad organizational responsibility.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Experience presenting financial information to executive leadership and Boards of Directors.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships across the organization while serving as a trusted strategic advisor.
