Full Job Description
Nightwing is seeking a Cyber Forensics Laboratory (CFL) Intrusions Lead to provide technical leadership, project oversight, and management of system and network forensic examinations, malware analysis, and reverse engineering activities in support of evidence submitted to the Defense Cyber Crime Center (DC3).
The CFL Intrusions Lead shall oversee forensic and analytical efforts conducted by Nightwing personnel and ensure all work is performed in accordance with Government requirements, applicable Federal laws, the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ), CFL accreditation standards, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and established intrusion analysis and digital forensics best practices. The CFL Intrusions Lead shall ensure the development of accurate, defensible, and actionable forensic evidence and intelligence products that support investigative and operational objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Providing technical leadership and oversight of digital forensics, network forensics, malware analysis, and reverse engineering activities.
  • Managing day-to-day operations and task execution for Nightwing personnel supporting intrusion investigations and forensic examinations.
  • Ensuring forensic examinations are conducted in accordance with legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
  • Overseeing the collection, preservation, analysis, and reporting of digital evidence.
  • Ensuring the quality, accuracy, timeliness, and technical integrity of all forensic products and deliverables.
  • Supporting contract-related business operations, financial management, and reporting activities, excluding inherently governmental functions.
  • Coordinating with Government personnel and stakeholders to support investigative, intelligence, and operational requirements.
  • Providing technical guidance on emerging cyber threats, forensic methodologies, and intrusion analysis techniques.

Minimum Qualifications
The CFL Intrusions Lead shall possess the following qualifications:
  • Current Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
  • Within the past five (5) years, experience leading technical efforts and supervising teams within a digital forensics laboratory environment of similar size, scope, and complexity.
  • Within the past seven (7) years, experience conducting digital and multimedia (D/MM) forensic examinations, analysis, and investigative techniques.
  • Within the past seven (7) years, experience performing forensic examinations and analysis of Microsoft Windows, Apple/macOS, UNIX, and Linux operating systems.
  • Within the past seven (7) years, experience conducting forensic network analysis in support of criminal, counterintelligence, cyber, or other investigative activities.
  • Within the past seven (7) years, experience analyzing endpoint artifacts, packet capture (PCAP) data, network traffic, and other relevant digital evidence sources to identify malicious activity and support investigative findings

Salary & Benefits

Text Constant The salary associated with this position ($99,000-$206,000) is commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications, years of relevant experience, and demonstrated level of expertise. Compensation will be determined based on these factors to ensure alignment with skills, responsibilities, and market standards.
