Job Description and ResponsibilitiesTheraPeds Partners is seeking a
full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join a school team in
Claremont, New Hampshire for the
2026-2027 school year. Working under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the COTA will provide therapeutic support to elementary students while partnering with educators, families, and multidisciplinary staff to promote student success.
RequirementsPosition Details- Full-time school-based opportunity with a 37.5-hour weekly schedule
- 2026-2027 academic year (August 2026 through May/June 2027)
- Fully on-site, in-person assignment at one school campus
- Support students in PreK through 5th grade
- Provide direct student services, complete evaluations and assessments, collaborate with educators and families, and participate in educational planning
- Guaranteed paid hours include direct services, documentation, planning, meetings, and administrative responsibilities
- Consistent assignment in a single school building with a collaborative educational team
- Manageable caseloads designed to support high-quality student services and positive outcomes
- Ongoing collaboration and support from both the partnering school district and the TheraPeds Partners team
- $40-$50+ per hour, with estimated weekly earnings of approximately $1,500-$1,875+ based on a 37.5-hour work week
Primary ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to students
- Assist with evaluations and assessments
- Support the development and implementation of IEP goals
- Monitor and document student progress
- Participate in consultation with teachers, staff, and families
- Assist with case management responsibilities
- Work closely with the supervising Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality student care
QualificationsCandidates should have:
- Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program
- Active New Hampshire Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license through the NH Regulation & Licensing Department
- Current NBCOT Certification
- Ability to practice under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
- Experience working with pediatric or school-age populations
- Knowledge of sensory integration principles and developmental/sensory-motor interventions
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Proficiency with technology and electronic documentation
- Successful fingerprint/background clearance
- Ability to build positive relationships with school staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality
Physical RequirementsThis position requires the ability to actively participate in school environments and assist students throughout the day. Duties may include standing, walking, sitting, crawling, lifting, and engaging in student activities across classrooms and other school settings while performing the essential functions of the position in accordance with district guidelines.
