Passion, Respect, and Excellence, the Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide therapeutic interventions that help residents achieve their highest level of function.
Responsibilities for Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA):- Implement occupational therapy treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
- Assist with resident evaluations and ongoing assessments, reporting progress and treatment outcomes.
- Guide residents through therapeutic, self-care, and functional activities to improve independence and daily living skills.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nursing staff, social workers, and other interdisciplinary team members to coordinate resident care.
- Modify treatment interventions in collaboration with the supervising Occupational Therapist based on resident progress and physician orders.
- Educate residents and families on treatment goals, home programs, and the use of adaptive equipment.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate resident progress to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, care planning, and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications for Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA):- Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Assistant program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and the American Medical Association (AMA).
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a practicing Occupational Therapist Assistant in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Current Occupational Therapist Assistant license in the state of practice required.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
