Job Title: Certified Dental Assistant (CDA)

Location: Downtown Vancouver - Transcend Specialized Dentistry

Position Type: Full-time (4-5 days/week)

Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM (No evenings or weekends, unless there is interest)

Salary Range: starting at $38 - $44 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Certified Dental Assistant to join our multi-specialty dental practice with specialists in prosthodontics, periodontics, and orthodontics. The ideal candidate will have experience in restorative, surgical, or orthodontic procedures, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care. This role requires adaptability, a commitment to continuous learning, and a drive to excel in a team environment dedicated to clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Assistance and Patient Care:
  • Chairside assisting during procedures with specialists
  • Setting up and turning over operatories between procedures
  • Safely handling and taking digital radiographs and CBCT scans
  • Taking digital impressions and photographs
  • Providing patients with post-operative instructions
  • Ensuring patient comfort before, during, and after procedures
  • Greeting patients and conducting introductory interviews
  • Assisting specialists during consultations
  • Drafting clinical notes as per specialist requirements
  • Reviewing estimates and treatment plans with patients
  • Checking patients out and scheduling their next appointments
  • Collecting payments and deposits when applicable
  • Engaging in a professional, friendly, and personal way with patients

Sterilization and Maintenance:
  • Handling sterilization of instruments and equipment
  • Conducting equipment maintenance checks and reporting any issues promptly
  • Maintaining a sterile environment through proper infection control techniques

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Current Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certification in British Columbia
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a CDA, preferably in a specialty office
  • Experience in restorative, surgical, or orthodontic procedures
  • Proficiency in dental radiography, digital impressions, and photography
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Knowledge of dental practice management software
