Job Summary
We're looking for an energetic and visionary Centrifuge Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead a high-impact engineering team at the Technology and Manufacturing Center in Oak Ridge, TN. In this role, you will guide the engineering activities and production performance for all classified centrifuge subsystems-excluding the Rotor Assembly-and ensure our manufacturing operations run at peak availability, performance, and quality. You will shape department strategy, build and mentor a strong engineering team, and collaborate across Manufacturing, Engineering, and Business Development to drive innovation and support new customer opportunities. What You will Be Doing
You will lead the Centrifuge Manufacturing Engineering Department by setting strategic goals, maintaining critical documentation, and driving operational excellence. In this role, you will staff and develop a high-performing engineering organization, mentor engineers in serial production best practices, and foster strong knowledge transfer across Manufacturing and Engineering functions. You will supervise day-to-day departmental activities, guide cross-functional teams in designing and improving manufacturing processes and ensure that production plans established by the Manufacturing Director are executed effectively. You will champion continuous improvement efforts, oversee production launches, and maintain key manufacturing performance targets-including Availability, Performance, and Quality. Additionally, you will proactively identify risks in current and future production processes, manage work to meet budget and schedule commitments, lead planning and analysis activities, and uphold all company policies, security requirements, and safety/environmental standards.
We'd Love to Hear from Candidates with
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or a related engineering discipline
• 10+ years of manufacturing experience
• Experience in serial production environments
• Strong background in lean manufacturing
• Familiarity with industry manufacturing quality systems (NQA-1, ISO-TS, AS9001)
• Experience with AIAG Core Tools
A Successful Candidate Will Also Bring
• Project management experience
• Active Q/TS security clearance preferred
• Centrifuge manufacturing experience a plus
• Experience with license-driven, safety-significant parts or systems
Pay:
Estimated Starting Base Salary Range: $125,081 - $208,469. Centrus considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. While the posted range reflects the anticipated hiring range for this position, compensation above the range may be considered for candidates with exceptional qualifications and directly relevant experience.
