Job Description

Job Summary: As a Central Fill Staff Pharmacist, you’ll work alongside Technicians and staff in a production environment to verify prescriptions and maintain the integrity and accuracy of products. You’ll provide guidance and expertise to production team members and use professional judgement to determine the correct course of action.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Ensures prescription accuracy by performing final checks on prescriptions and replenishment
  • Oversee and verifies the work of Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy Care Representatives and other production partners
  • Assists in managing production efficiency, troubleshoots system errors, and ensures continuous workflow
  • Ensures regulatory compliance by adhering to all state and federal laws and staying current on training
  • Contributes to controlling operational performance, maintaining quality assurance, and continuously improving processes

Networks with more senior internal and external stakeholders who may be unfamiliar with the area of specialty.  

Work Experience:

  • 1-2 years of retail staff pharmacist experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong verbal/written communication and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasks in stressful situations
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Microsoft Office experience and general computer skills
  • Production goal oriented
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate clearly in English (required)

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from accredited university

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Active license with the State Board of Pharmacy where facility is located

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

  • Work in a fast-paced production environment with large team
  • Work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays while remaining flexible to business needs
  • Use arms/hands in a repetitive motion requiring hand and wrist dexterity
  • Work extended hours; stand/sit for extended periods
  • Stay past scheduled shift to complete daily production in the event of systems failure or production downtime, as needed
  • Regularly lift up to 25 lbs; occasionally lift up to 40 lbs
