Late-model equipment and driver-focused cab features make this regional CDL-A position a comfortable setup for the miles drivers cover each week. Regular weekend home time, no-touch dry van freight, and established operating lanes add structure to the workweek without limiting earning potential.

Albany Trucking is hiring CDL-A truck drivers for regional routes throughout the Northeast and Midwest. Additional travel into other states may be available when freight needs create broader opportunities.

Your Truck and Driver Setup

Drivers primarily operate [redacted] Peterbilt 579 Ultralofts, with a limited number of Kenworth T680 tractors also available. Each truck is equipped with features that support comfort and convenience throughout the week.

Equipment includes APUs, refrigerators, and power inverters. Most tractors have Thermo King APUs, while some older units use Carrier systems. Trucks are governed at 70 MPH through both the cruise control and pedal.

The fleet uses outward-facing cameras only.

The Regional Workweek

Drivers return home every weekend for two full days. Primary routes cover the Northeast and Midwest, providing a combination of familiar regional territory and productive mileage.

No-touch dry van freight allows drivers to remain focused on driving rather than loading or unloading cargo. Broader travel opportunities may occasionally arise across additional states, adding variety while maintaining the established regional schedule.

Weekly Pay and Mileage

Weekly pay is $1,500 to $1,700. Drivers average approximately 2,087 miles per week, while top performers average approximately 2,697 miles.

Consistent freight availability and regional route coverage help support productive weekly mileage before drivers return home for their scheduled weekend reset.

Benefits
• Medical, dental, and vision insurance
• Paid time off
• 401(k) with company match

Paid Orientation

Orientation lasts three days, with classes beginning on Monday or Wednesday. Transportation to orientation is provided, along with a private hotel room and lunches during the program.

Drivers receive $375 in orientation pay. The program covers company procedures, equipment expectations, and the information needed before being assigned a truck and dispatched on the first load.
