Description

The Guidance Center (TGC) is currently seeking a Community Support Services / Community Based Services Supervisor to be the newest member of our innovative interdisciplinary team. This position provides leadership, supervision, and operational oversight for the CSS/CBS team in Oskaloosa, as well as key programs operating across all three counties, including IPS, Peer Support, and NFMH programming. The role is responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising staff; monitoring performance and ensuring service quality; assigning and managing caseloads; and proactively addressing operational and clinical challenges. This position ensures that services are delivered effectively, in compliance with regulatory standards, and aligned with organizational goals and best practices.

Primary Duties:

1. Provide direct orientation, training, supervision, and ongoing performance management of case managers, attendants, Peer Support Specialists, and other CSS/ CBS staff within the assigned location.

2. Deliver comprehensive intake assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide outpatient therapy services for a designated caseload of clients, ensuring adherence to clinical best practices.

3. Deliver and oversee CSS/CBS, including case management, skill-building, and rehabilitation services, ensuring quality, compliance, and person-centered care.

4. Provide case management services to assigned clients as needed to ensure continuity of care and timely service delivery.

5. Deliver interim case management support during staff absences or emergencies to maintain uninterrupted client services.

6. Serve as the Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) for non-therapy clients within the assigned county, ensuring development, implementation, and review of treatment plans and Plans of Care.

7. Provide clinical and administrative oversight of the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) program, promoting employment-focused recovery services and ensuring fidelity to evidence-based practices.

8. Supervise and support Peer Support Specialists, ensuring services reflect recovery-oriented principles, lived-experience integration, and compliance with certification standards.

9. Oversee NFMH (National Family Mental Health or relevant program) programming, ensuring effective implementation, staff support, and alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

10. Provide leadership and oversight of SED Waiver processes within the assigned county, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all steps in the application and renewal process.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE:

Required: Master's degree in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy or Professional Counseling, and licensure by the Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board as an LMSW, LMLP, LCP, LMFT, LCMFT, LPC, LCPC, or LSCSW by the first day of employment.

EXPERIENCE:

Required: one-year post-masters clinical experience in a mental health setting, and minimum one year experience in program management and supervision of staff. Preferred: experience with the Kansas system of community-based mental health care and associated evidence-based practices, and prior experience as a case manager for SPMI adults and/or SED youth.
