SUMMARY:

The Category Sourcing Manager - Allied Goods reports to the Director, Sourcing & Procurement and will share responsibility for the achievement of Royal Cup's strategic business goals as it relates to Procurement. This role will be responsible for strategically managing approximately $20M - $40M in annual spend on Allied Goods sourced to support Royal Cup's foodservice, licensee, and distribution operations.The primary initiative is to continuously reduce total costs for Royal Cup while simultaneously improving quality and service from our supply base, while maintaining required in-stock service levels for our field sales, licensee, and distribution network. This role will also help drive change through a collaborative, thoughtful approach to their commodity.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review daily inventory levels by vendor/supplier and execute purchasing decisions to support Purchase Orders from field sales, special orders, and Royal Cup Licensee Systems.
  • Own Allied Goods inventory and coordinate inventory cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy, maintaining a required 99.5% in-stock service level.
  • Manage and execute the sourcing strategy for assigned commodities and related vendor relationships.
  • Ensure products are purchased at negotiated, established prices.
  • Continuously focus on reducing the total cost of goods within their commodity, leveraging network relationships to negotiate the best possible value without compromising product or service delivery.
  • Publish and manage RFQs for current and potential new purchases.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select "best fit", best price, and best service suppliers.
  • Manage successful cost negotiations with strategic suppliers.
  • Drive lower costs while maintaining and improving supplier metrics.
  • Improve capabilities for strategic sourcing processes, such as sampling, costing, quality assurance, PO management, and logistics functions; maintain the cost system and pricing updates, and audit and approve invoices for cost and quantity accuracy.
  • On an ongoing basis, monitor, evaluate, and work to improve the performance (e.g., quality, delivery, service levels) of their suppliers.
  • Perform ongoing supplier base research and analysis and maintain and update the assigned portfolio of supply options and sourcing trends.
  • Remain current on supply market trends, supplier economics, and best practice sourcing.
  • Partner closely with Receiving, Inventory Control, Accounting, and Field Sales to ensure clear, ongoing communication of inventory levels, current pricing, product availability, and delivery scheduling.
  • Measure and track on a quarterly and period basis.
  • All other duties as assigned, including support of special projects for the Purchasing and Operations departments.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, finance, or another related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a strategic sourcing role.
  • Proven track record of adding value to companies and providing strong contributions to a Procurement team.
  • Experience managing a broad, multi-SKU product portfolio with high service-level requirements (e.g., 99%+ fill rate).
  • Proven ability to take necessary actions to rectify problems and improve situations.
  • Proven experience as a working Category/Commodity Manager who excels in an evolving environment, handles pressure well, and is self-motivated to accomplish assigned tasks timely and efficiently.
  • Sound understanding of purchasing practices, general business financials, and negotiation strategies.
  • Proven advanced user-level capability with all Microsoft Office Software, specifically Excel (vlookup, Sumif, Countif) & PowerPoint.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills - inclusive of presentation skills and ability to build relationships with employees, leadership, and external business associates at any level.
  • Proven experience and familiarity with large-scale ERP systems.
  • Ability to successfully complete the pre-employment process.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience sourcing and supporting a multi-channel distribution or foodservice supply network.
  • Procure-to-Pay experience a plus, e.g., Coupa or Ariba.
  • Previous SAP experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, typing, reading, talking, and hearing.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds with or without assistance.
