DEPCOM Power is seeking a
Category Manager to join the Services team, reporting to the Director of Field Services. This role remains heavily involved in strategic sourcing, procurement, and supply chain management while developing and executing category strategies supporting Restoration Services, Repowering Solutions, and BESS Augmentation.
Unlike traditional large-scale EPC procurement, repower work often requires faster turnaround times, smaller quantities, flexible sourcing, and rapid response to evolving site needs. Categories may include modules, battery energy storage systems (BESS), high-voltage equipment, balance-of-system materials, structural components, rental equipment, tooling, and construction materials.
The Category Manager partners with Field Services, engineering, construction, project management, logistics, finance, and suppliers to deliver safe, compliant, and cost-effective solutions in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment. Success in this role requires building trusted partnerships across internal teams and suppliers to translate operational needs into practical sourcing and supply chain solutions while balancing cost, quality, availability, schedule, safety, and risk.

What You Will Do- Category Strategy & Sourcing
- Own category strategies for Field Services materials, equipment, rentals, tooling, and services.
- Tailor sourcing roadmaps to repower demand, smaller quantities, and accelerated turnaround times.
- Lead competitive sourcing events, evaluations, negotiations, contracting activities, and purchase-order execution.
- Mobilize flexible purchasing support to meet urgent project and site requirements.
- Supplier Management & Value Creation
- Develop and maintain a responsive supplier network that delivers safety, quality, value, capacity, and reliability.
- Build strong supplier relationships that support low-volume needs, rapid response, and issue resolution.
- Capture savings and cost avoidance through negotiation, consolidation, value engineering, and demand optimization.
- Optimize total value across cost, availability, quality, schedule, service, safety, and risk.
- Project and Operational Execution
- Partner closely with project, technical, logistics, finance, and site teams to understand actual requirements and priorities.
- Secure materials, expedite critical orders, and remove supply chain barriers to support successful field execution.
- Support efficient acquisition, deployment, maintenance, rentals, repairs, and lifecycle management of equipment and tooling.
- Market Intelligence & Risk Management
- Analyze pricing, supplier capacity, lead times, logistics constraints, and category trends.
- Anticipate supply-chain risks and implement mitigation strategies that support rapid and reliable project execution.
- Contracts, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Define commercial terms, scopes, service levels, warranties, and supplier accountabilities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, approvals, contracts, safety requirements, and applicable laws.
- Deliver reporting on spend, savings, supplier performance, responsiveness, and financial outcomes.
- Advance procurement capabilities through process, system, procedure, and reporting improvements.
- Cross-Functional Leadership
- Serve as the strategic supply chain and category-management partner for Field Services and enterprise sourcing initiatives.
- Align stakeholders around business priorities and develop practical sourcing solutions that support operational success.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)- Experience in supply chain, procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, asset management, or commodity management.
- Experience using procurement, supply chain, asset, or commodity management systems.
- Demonstrated supplier negotiation, contracting, and relationship management experience.
- Ability to build trusted relationships, uncover operational needs, and translate them into effective sourcing solutions.
- Experience analyzing and improving sourcing processes, category performance, procedures, or scopes of work.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond quickly in a fast-paced, highly visible environment.
What Will Put You Ahead- Experience supporting EPC, renewable energy, solar, energy storage, repowering, or large-scale construction projects.
- Knowledge of construction materials, equipment, logistics, lead times, and project scheduling.
- Experience sourcing smaller quantities or supporting urgent, variable, and project-specific demand.
- Experience with project financials, cost analysis, and total cost of ownership.
- Experience developing scalable operations-support systems, processes, or supplier capabilities.
- Post-secondary degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
For this role, we anticipate paying $85,000 - $115,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
