Join Our Team as a Category Manager at Epiroc!

The Category Manager develops and manages an optimized supplier base to ensure stable, high-quality, and cost-effective supply across assigned categories. The role leads sourcing strategy, supplier evaluation, contract management, and continuous improvement initiatives to drive total cost optimization and long-term supplier performance. Develop and manage an optimized supplier base that secures a stable supply flow, with the highest quality and availability at the most competitive cost.

Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to formulate sourcing strategies in alignment with business initiatives to meet established goals and drive continuous improvements
  • Select and evaluate business partners in an objective and professional manner in order to achieve the best possible total cost, on-time delivery, and quality
  • Ensure that suppliers comply with Epiroc's Business Code of Practice, applicable laws, regulations, restrictions, and standards
  • Perform supplier risk assessments and implement mitigation plans as needed
  • Develop, implement, and oversee supplier contracts, including proper storage
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships
  • Develop pricing strategies to achieve total cost optimization
  • Conduct supplier business review meetings to ensure cooperation and strategic alignment
  • Perform supplier evaluations using objective criteria, including but not limited to quality, risk minimization, productivity, delivery performance, safety, reliability, commercial performance, competence, and price.
  • Perform make/buy analysis
  • Participate in new product development and process improvement projects as required
  • Initiate and complete administrative requirements, such as generating RFQs and RFPs, writing engineering changes/deviation requests, loading quotations, standard cost adjustments, purchasing price variance reporting, etc.
  • Monitor and update sourcing parameters in the ERP system to ensure master data integrity
  • Ensure supplier payment issues are resolved in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with sourcing colleagues worldwide to optimize economy of scale, maximize leverage, and take advantage of synergies when possible.
  • Comply with Epiroc's Purchasing policy


Knowledge/Education:
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Strategic Sourcing function
  • Experience in supply chain management, manufacturing operations, and financial analysis
  • High level of knowledge related to supplier frame agreements preferred
  • ERP (M3 or other) experience preferred
  • Proficient in Excel Microsoft office
