Category Manager-Case Goods, Lighting, Mirrors (on-site at Corporate in Pelham, AL)

Join our team as a Category Manager for Case Goods, Lighting, and Mirrors and take the lead in shaping the future of the Gabby product line. This role owns the strategy behind our case goods, lighting, and mirror categories, from spotting emerging trends and steering product development to setting pricing and driving profitable growth across every channel. You'll partner closely with design, marketing, and e-commerce teams, travel to markets and trade shows to source what's next, and bring a sharp eye for both style and the numbers behind it. What You Do
  • Analyzes customer demographics, fashion trends, and retail and wholesale market data to plan for and respond to emerging trends within the category.
  • Determines competitive strategies for product development, assortment, pricing, margin, promotion, and clearance to maximize category performance.
  • Owns category management responsibilities for Gabby case goods, lighting, and mirrors, ensuring a cohesive and compelling product line.
  • Leads pricing and merchandising decisions-partnering with visual, marketing, and e-commerce teams, and weighing in on order quantities, freight terms, allowances, and packaging.
  • Reports to the executive team on the state of the category and researches competitors to keep the category competitively positioned and drive toward category leadership.
  • Partners with the in-house design team on product development recommendations, and travels domestically and internationally to stores, plants, trade shows, and markets to source product and build vendor relationships.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with operations, finance, procurement, design, and marketing to ensure accurate product data, polished marketing materials, and successful commercialization across all channels.


How Success is Measured
  • All products in the category are competitively priced against agreed-upon pricing thresholds.
  • Total category margin health, based on invoiced sales.
  • Total line structure health, measured by style mix percentage, number of SKUs, and SKU productivity.
  • Product roadmap health, based on an agreed-upon set of predetermined requirements.


What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Merchandising, Retail, or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in product management, plus three years in purchasing, buying, merchandising, brand management, or marketing-preferably in the home industry.
  • Supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, with effective time management, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proficient working knowledge of continuous improvement principles.
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
