The Work: - Help set and lead the strategic direction for a category at Target
- Deliver merchandising and assortment planning recommendations through deep category analysis
- Research category and industry trends to understand white space and growth areas
- Provide timely and accurate data through multiple sources that includes fact based actionable insights to drive category sales and demonstrate thought leadership
- Develop and maintain routine reporting on category performance through Target and Market data
- Build Planograms using the Blue Yonder Space Planning software multiple times a year
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Target team • Collaborate and share findings with the Category Management Team
Here's What You Need: - Minimum of 3 year's experience as a retail Category Manager.
- Minimum of 5 years business acumen working in retail and/or brand agencies
Bonus Points If:- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power Point
- Proficient in Category Management Tools (JDA, Market Data- POS and Panel Data, etc.)
- Skillful at pairing multiple data sets to answer business questions and tell a story • Turn data into thoughtful insights to create a multiple year strategy
- Self-starter with the ability to work in ambiguous situations and find creative solutions
- Passionate and curious about industry and category trends
- Strong organizational skills and reliable to hit deadlines
- Asks good questions, gains alignment on goals and can execute on them
- Exceptional communication and relationship building skills
- Can work independently most of the time and is resourceful to figure out an answer
- Demonstrates leadership
