Job Overview

This role is located in Midwest/Central area by a major airport.

How will you fit in the big picture?

As a Category Consultant, you will serve as a trusted category expert supporting both Hershey teams and key external customers. You will play a critical role in driving category growth by translating data and insights into actionable strategies that deliver results for both Hershey and our retail partners.
This role is embedded within the Category Management team, where collaboration, curiosity, and a passion for winning drive success. You will contribute to category initiatives that unlock growth opportunities across strategic C-store customers such as Casey's, Love's, Murphy USA, and Oncue.

Accountabilities

1. Analyze and share customer and shopper research with retail partners to inform category planning and reviews This supports effective execution and alignment with organizational standards.
2. Collaborate with retailers to develop tailored promotional and product placement strategies that align with their customer base This supports effective execution and alignment with organizational standards.
3. Conduct joint business planning sessions to establish and align on category goals and performance metrics This responsibility supports the role's core functions and contributes to organizational objectives. This supports effective execution and alignment with organizational standards.
4. Manage pricing, selection, and promotions to maximize sales and profitability while supporting retailer objectives This responsibility supports the role's core functions and contributes to organizational objectives. This supports effective execution and alignment with organizational standards.

Prior Experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree required
Experience:
  • 2-5 years of Category Management and/or CPG Sales experience
  • Experience working with syndicated data (e.g., Circana/IRI or similar)
  • Strong analytical and data storytelling capabilities
  • Ability to translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills in a cross-functional environment
  • Working knowledge of category management principles and consumer/shopper behavior
