**This position is eligible to work from home anywhere in the US**

In this role, you’ll act as a key expert guiding complex casualty claims to strong outcomes. You’ll partner with claims teams and leadership to shape strategy, provide direction on high-impact cases, and ensure consistent, best-in-class claim handling. You’ll also drive continuous improvement by analyzing trends, supporting audits, and elevating team performance through coaching and collaboration. Your work will directly influence claim results, customer experience, and overall business performance, making you a critical player in both daily operations and long-term success.

Essential Functions:

  • Serves as a subject matter expert on casualty claims policies, insurance programs, and best practices

  • Partners with claims teams to review files, develop resolution strategies, and drive optimal outcomes

  • Collaborates with leadership on claim strategy, including reserving, expenses, and litigation management

  • Provides reserve, settlement guidance, and authority on high-exposure or complex claims

  • Monitors reserve development trends and evaluates claim performance across assigned teams

  • Acts as escalation point for complex claims issues, partnering with Legal, Underwriting, and external vendors

  • Leads and participates in claim roundtables, committees, and case discussions to ensure strategic alignment

  • Maintains oversight of major/complex claim files to guide handling and ensure progress

  • Supports and enforces best practices across Claims Directors, supervisors, and adjusters

  • Partners with Compliance and QA to implement audit action plans and improve claim handling quality

  • Leverages customer feedback insights to identify pain points and enhance the claims experience

  • Contributes to staffing, hiring, training, and development of casualty claims talent

  • Leads or supports enterprise and departmental initiatives aligned to claims strategy and financial goals

  • Ensures compliance with claim handling standards, conducts file reviews, and drives continuous improvement

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience

  • Ten years of casualty claims experience in progressively responsible roles or related experience

  • Attainment of all applicable state licenses as required

  • Insurance designations, such as AIC, CIC, AIM and CPCU preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Superior knowledge of the theory and practice of the casualty claims function

  • Strong analytical abilities and demonstrated experience of good judgment with respect to casualty loss and coverage

  • Proven knowledge of insurance contracts, medical terminology and legal aspects of court procedures affecting legal liability for all lines of insurance

  • Strong, current knowledge of all insurance lines, relevant court decisions, guidelines in the claims function, and policy changes and modifications

  • Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate branch claims team members in the handling and disposition of claims

  • Excellent knowledge of computers and claims systems

  • Superior organizational and written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent investigative and problem-solving abilities

  • Occasional travel; a valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle report per company standards required if driving

The hiring salary range for this position will vary based on geographic location, falling within either of the following:

$112,276 - $161,326 or $124,084 - $177,469

A hiring range represents a subset of the full salary range.The actual salary will depend on several factors, includingrelevant education, skills, and experience of an applicant, geographic location, and business needs.
