Carpentry Operations Manager to lead field carpentry operations across projects throughout Westchester County, the Hudson Valley, and the greater New York City region. This role oversees carpentry crews, coordinates with project leadership, and ensures work is executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
What You'll Do as the Carpentry Operations Manager:- Lead daily carpentry operations across multiple commercial construction projects
- Supervise carpentry crews ranging from small teams to large project workforces
- Coordinate work plans and production goals with foremen and field leadership
- Ensure materials, tools, and equipment are available and staged for upcoming work
- Monitor crew productivity, project progress, and workforce allocation
- Collaborate with project managers and site leadership to align schedules and priorities
- Inspect installations to confirm work meets drawings, specifications, and quality standards
- Identify and resolve field challenges quickly to keep projects moving
- Assist with layout planning, sequencing, and preparation for upcoming phases
- Coordinate carpentry work with other trades to maintain jobsite efficiency
Must-Haves as the Carpentry Operations Manager:- 8+ years of field experience in carpentry or commercial construction
- Prior experience supervising carpentry crews or field teams
- Strong knowledge of commercial carpentry systems such as rated assemblies, head-of-wall systems, firestopping, and acoustical sealants
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination skills
- Hands-on mindset with the ability to solve field issues in real time
- Commitment to quality workmanship and safe jobsite practices
Nice-to-Haves as the Carpentry Operations Manager:- Experience managing large carpentry crews on complex commercial projects
- Background working with both in-house and union carpentry labor
- Experience coordinating with multiple trades on active construction sites
- Familiarity with healthcare, institutional, or education construction environments
