Job DescriptionAs an active and hands-on member of the cargo team that leads installation functions at the established work sites. The leader will be dedicated to directing the installation of the Smiths-related systems and guiding the installation team to accomplish the MEP/RPM/LEP and/or HE rail installations on time and on budget working with the Program manager and his assigned leaders tasked with keeping the other activities (i.e. civil works) on schedule to complete the job as required. The leader will be dedicated to the site, and this will be a traveling position. The leader will have full responsibility of the installation & integration of the Smiths related systems to the customers equipment as noted by the site design documents. The leader will be expected to be present at the site on a weekly basis working at least 2 to 3 weeks out of the month to maintain schedules and efficiency of the installation.
SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESINCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the system mechanics, electronics, and safety systems of the product
- Has all SDI service safety training and has had Specialized product specific Service Maintenance training, trained as an alternate Radiation Safety Officer (RSO).
- Manage the receipt and inventory of the Smiths materials on site, inspection post shipping to the site, advises and documents any damage to the PM for ordering replacements
- Leads the service installation team of FST's & TST's. Hold daily safety standup meetings and huddles to lay out the work for the day
- Coordinate the install of the equipment package at the site with the support of the onsite contractors and the assigned cargo team members
- Coordinate directly with SD/SDI operations/engineering for any issues such as server/networking configurations and updates, escalates to PM as needed
- Tests and commissions the system equipment to the approved CBP Site Acceptance Test Plan (SAT). Performs radiation surveys at the site
- Conducts IQI site testing and conducts the SAT test with the CBP test managers, compiles the CI list (serial numbers for all the equipment delivered to CBP)
- Organizes and de-mobilization from the site of all tools and support equipment
- Ensure successful Service operations by monitoring progress against plan, forecast and defined metrics as well as implementing corrective measures as needed (i.e. PM Compliance, Work Order management in Service Max, etc.)
- Convey the vision, set expectations and challenge staff to achieve Service's operations and support goals.
- Develop and maintain a work culture that is successful and committed to excellent customer service.
- Participate in supplier and customer negotiations as needed to recognize opportunities, to ensure cost-efficiency and maintain alignment with company goals.
- Develop and build upon relationships with other functional disciplines within the company.
- Works across functions to ensure business is transacted accurately and within guidelines to the highest ethical standards
- Ability to travel regularly is a critical requirement to meet business objectives. Travel initiative is estimated at 60%.
- Comply with and ensure department compliance with Company health, safety and environmental policies
- Other duties as required

QualificationsEducation/Training: Bachelor's Degree or country specific equivalency in engineering or related discipline, advanced degree preferred. Need to review
Experience: A minimum of 5 years experience in a technical field or industry; A minimum of 5 years prior experience in cargo business.
Knowledge/Skills: Strong communications skills and a solid orientation toward customer focus and teamwork; Exceptional business and people management skills; the ability to teach, train, motivate and develop staff. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Computer literacy, competency in use of all programs within MS Office Suite and aptitude for learning specialized software programs.
Supervises: Direct and indirect supervision responsibility for site teams to accomplish the required work
