Job Responsibilities
The Director of CAREERS (College Activities Reap Educational Experiences Success Resulting in Success) and TRiO Programs provides leadership and guidance relevant to the program development, compliance, and goal attainment of three US Department of Labor grant programs and the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act Perkins V Grant. The director oversees and coordinates the CAREERS Program to include: budgeting, selection criteria and services, inventory, equipment, monthly reporting, orientations, workshops, semester update sessions, job shadowing, and coordination with college departments and external agencies. Manages and supervises CAREERS staff to ensure grant objectives are met. Serves as the College Perkins Administrator to the SC Technical College System, monitors extensive data collection, fund utilization, and expenditures for college and state reporting of Perkins Grant which includes working and meeting with vice presidents, grant finance department, academic deans, department heads, faculty, staff, Midlands Education and Business Alliance (MEBA), and all other necessary constituents. Prepares, writes, and submits the annual Perkins local application, quarterly reports, year-end report and amendments. Interacts regularly with State Tech regarding Perkins legislation, to ensure conformity of state and federal guidelines, and attends professional development. Supervises the directors of TRiO Programs, coordinates grant application and reporting requirement, and provides assistance relevant to the college and community issues and needs related to TRiO program compliance and goal attainment. Oversees the monthly reporting of TRiO Programs.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A master's degree and experience in student services programs.

Preferred Qualifications
A master's degree and two years of experience in student services programs. A master's degree, previous community college experience, supervisory experience, and federal grant experience including Perkins is highly preferred.
