Career Milestones Portfolio Partner - Learning Excellence

The Portfolio Partner - Learning Excellence will play a critical role in advancing enterprise learning priorities across Johnson & Johnson NA Innovative Medicines, with primary responsibility for the New Leader Academy. This individual will partner closely with the Portfolio Lead and cross-functional stakeholders to design, manage, evolve, and operationalize learning solutions that build leadership capability, strengthen the learner experience, and align with business needs.

Success in this role requires a strong learning mindset, experience supporting large-scale learning initiatives, and the ability to lead through influence in a highly matrixed environment. The ideal candidate is future-focused, anticipates challenges before they occur, brings a solution-oriented approach to complex problems, and thrives amid constant change, ambiguity, and evolving business priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the Learning Excellence portfolio strategy for the New Leader Academy across Johnson & Johnson NA Innovative Medicines, ensuring learning priorities, curriculum decisions, and portfolio investments align with leadership capability needs and business objectives.


  • Serve as a Learning & Development subject matter partner, translating leadership development needs, learner feedback, and business priorities into actionable learning strategies and scalable program enhancements.


  • Maintain rigorous oversight of New Leader Academy content integrity, instructional quality, learner experience, compliance expectations, and documentation standards within a highly regulated life sciences environment.


  • Proactively identify and escalate learning program risks, stakeholder misalignment, learner experience issues, resource constraints, or implementation challenges that require cross-functional coordination or leadership attention.


  • Represent the New Leader Academy in governance discussions, stakeholder working sessions, cross-functional planning forums, and portfolio reviews, driving alignment and follow-through without direct authority.


  • Support time-sensitive business and leadership requests related to the New Leader Academy, including launch readiness, rapid updates, large-scale deployment needs, change impacts, and post-implementation reviews.


  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Learning & Development practices by identifying opportunities to simplify, scale, modernize, and future-proof program design, governance, measurement, and ways of working.


  • Build strong partnerships across matrixed teams by sharing knowledge, enabling peer collaboration, supporting onboarding, and promoting consistency across learning portfolios and leadership development initiatives.


  • Effectively manage vendor and supplier relationships, budgets, and utilization.


  • Support enterprise responsibilities, including matrix team collaboration and the planning, development, and execution of additional enterprise-wide initiatives.

Professional Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration, Life Sciences, or a related field; BA/BS or equivalent required.


  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience, with demonstrated experience in Learning & Development, leadership development, people leadership, large-scale learning initiatives, pharmaceutical sales, or a related field.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$102,000.00 - $177,100.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

This position is eligible to participate in the Company's long-term incentive program.

Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

Vacation -120 hours per calendar year

Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado -48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington -56 hours per calendar year

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays -13 days per calendar year

Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year

Parental Leave - 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child

Bereavement Leave - 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year

Caregiver Leave - 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days

Volunteer Leave - 32 hours per calendar year

Military Spouse Time-Off - 80 hours per calendar year
