Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Cardiac Anesthesiologist, you will join our collaborative and growing team at St. Joseph Medical Center (SJMC).  SJMC is a 385 bed, Level II Trauma, tertiary care medical center in downtown Tacoma.  

 

Every day you will support our long-standing 3-star STS cardiac surgery program and growing interventional platform. Case mix includes open heart, high risk thoracic/vascular, electrophysiology, and structural heart cases (with care team supervision in EP lab).

 

To be successful in this role, you will be a skilled, board-certified, and compassionate Cardiac Anesthesiologist.  We are offering a guaranteed annual salary of $625,000, starting bonus, relocation assistance, up to $50,000 /year in performance bonuses, $3,500/year CME support ($5,000 if echo boarded), 8 weeks vacation, generous employer-subsidized benefits including both 401(k) and 457(b) plans with employer matching in the 401(k).  Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is a non-profit organization and an eligible Public Service Loan Forgiveness employer. 

Job Requirements

Required

 

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
  • Board certification or eligibility in Anesthesiology (ABA)
  • Completion of Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology
  • Active Washington State Medical License, or eligible for licensure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate care to all patients and families

 

Preferred

  • 2+ years experience following training
  • EPIC experience
