Who you are:

As a Capital Markets Public Finance Banker, you play a vital role in developing relationships with municipal and finance personnel in cities, counties, school districts and other political subdivisions, seeking to assist them with obtaining financing for securities-style debt. You will partner with the underwriting and banking team to help secure roles in various underwriting syndicates. More than that, this role is about building relationships and doing it with integrity, caring, and excellence in mind.

What you'll do:
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with various issuers, with a concentration towards senior administration at school districts
  • Utilize knowledge of municipal capital markets, municipal bond structures, and credit fundamentals in order to advise customers on the best methods for obtaining the funding they need
  • Work closely with the Capital Markets Municipal Underwriter in helping to structure and price the debt at a level that both makes sense for the customer and is appropriate for market conditions
  • Work closely with Bankers from Frost Bank's Public Finance Department, referring opportunities to them for direct financing and other bank services when such opportunities become known. Assist in credit and pricing analysis as needed
  • Manage and support analysts as needed, providing guidance, assigning tasks based on expertise, and ensuring optimal resource allocation to meet project deadlines and objectives
  • Responsible for deciding which clients to try to develop relationships with and how to go about that
  • Always take action using Integrity, Caring, and Excellence to achieve all-win outcomes


What you'll need:
  • Bachelor's degree, with coursework in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Economics, or Mathematics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 5+ years experience, at a minimum, in municipal finance or public school administration
  • Knowledge of the applicable laws, rulings, and regulations pertaining to municipal finance
  • Series 7, Series 63, and/or Series 52 licenses or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • Proficient in Microsoft computer applications and applicable DBC Finance bond sizing and structuring software


Additional Preferred Skills:
  • An existing book of relationships and established contacts in the Texas municipal market
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Public Administration
  • School district CFO or Superintendent experience
