Position Description: Are you passionate about Canadian taxation and looking to grow within a dynamic corporate environment with international reach? Join our Corporate Finance team as a Canadian Tax Manager. Reporting to the Director of International Tax, you will play a key role in managing the group's Canadian tax compliance while contributing to complex and strategic projects.
Your future duties and responsibilities: . Compile and analyze information required for federal and provincial income tax compliance;
. Prepare and review Canadian corporate tax returns (T2, T3, T5013) and other related forms (T4A-NR, NR4);
. Manage the preparation of international tax filings (T1134, surplus calculations, etc.);
. Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the organization;
. Act as a trusted advisor to internal teams, providing sound tax advice and identifying opportunities to optimize tax outcomes;
. Conduct tax research on complex Canadian tax matters;
. Assist in preparing quarterly and annual tax provisions;
. Contribute to special projects such as due diligence, acquisitions, and corporate reorganizations;
. Support the management of audits by tax authorities (corporate income tax and sales tax).
Required qualifications to be successful in this role: . Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration;
. Accounting designation (CPA) is a strong asset;
. Completion of the CPA In-Depth Tax Course or a Master's degree in Taxation;
. Minimum of 6 to 10 years of relevant experience in Canadian taxation;
. Fluency in both French and English, spoken and written.
Knowledge and Skills:
. Strong understanding of tax accounting principles and IFRS standards related to income taxes;
. Proficiency in tax compliance software such as Taxprep for Corporations and Taxprep Forms;
. Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
. Strong analytical skills, autonomy, attention to detail, initiative, and sound professional judgment;
. Ability to effectively manage priorities and meet deadlines;
. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $90,000-$175,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
