Job Title: CAE Durability Engineer / Fatigue Analyst
Location: Dearborn, Michigan, Hybrid.
Job Type: W2 Contract
Expected Hours per Week: 40 hours per week
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-5
Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced CAE Durability Engineer / Fatigue Analyst to perform structural and fatigue simulations for automotive applications. This role will focus on durability assessments, fatigue life predictions, modal transient analysis, correlation of virtual results with physical testing, root cause investigations, and collaboration with Design & Release teams to validate and improve product designs.
Key Responsibilities: - Perform structural and fatigue simulations involving road loads.
- Conduct modal transient analysis and durability assessments.
- Perform root cause analysis to validate design solutions against durability and performance targets.
- Correlate CAE results with physical test data to improve confidence in simulation accuracy.
- Communicate analysis findings and recommendations to Design & Release teams.
- Support resolution of quality, warranty, and technical issues through CAE analysis.
- Maintain expertise in fatigue methodologies, tools, and industry best practices.
- Review and apply lessons learned, standards, and durability databases.
- Support special CAE projects and initiatives as assigned.
Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 10+ years of CAE experience with a strong focus on durability and fatigue analysis.
- Strong understanding of material science, structural mechanics, stress-life, and strain-life fatigue principles.
- Experience performing linear, non-linear, implicit, and explicit FEA analyses.
- Proficiency with:
- ANSA, HyperMesh
- NASTRAN, OptiStruct, Abaqus
- nCode, FeSafe, Verity, Fdynam
- HyperWorks
- Teamcenter, 3DX
- Strong communication and technical problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications: - Automotive durability and fatigue analysis experience.
- Experience supporting Design & Release Engineers.
- Familiarity with AIMS, DURIS, Commodity Health Charts, and Lessons Learned processes.
- Expert-level HyperMesh experience.
- Strong CAD and meshing tool experience.
