Work Model: This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office.

Position Overview:

The CAD Systems & Engineering Data Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of engineering design systems and associated technical data environments. This role serves as the primary owner of CAD, PDM, PLM, and engineering document management platforms, ensuring system reliability, data integrity, user support, and compliance with company standards.

The position manages software licensing, vendor relationships, maintenance agreements, user access, system configurations, and engineering data workflows while supporting engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams. The role combines technical system administration with engineering process support to maximize productivity and data accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

Engineering Systems Administration

  • Serve as primary administrator for Creo, DDM, Windchill, and other engineering software platforms that may be assigned.
  • Manage CAD software license allocation, utilization tracking, and compliance.
  • Maintain software maintenance agreements, subscriptions, and support contracts.
  • Coordinate software upgrades, patches, testing, and deployment activities.
  • Work with IT and external vendors to resolve system issues and maintain system availability.
  • Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain engineering system standards, procedures, and best practices.


CAD Environment Management

  • Maintain CAD templates, drawing formats, symbol libraries, family tables, and configuration files.
  • Establish and audit CAD standards across engineering teams.
  • Support engineers with Creo configuration, troubleshooting, and workflow optimization.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and workspace configurations.
  • Coordinate migration of legacy CAD data when required.
  • Evaluate and implement new CAD tools and productivity enhancements.


Windchill / DDM / PDM / PLM Administration

  • Administer engineering data management systems and workflows.
  • Configure lifecycle states, release processes, and approval workflows.
  • Support BOM management and product structure maintenance.
  • Ensure engineering data is properly stored, secured, and recoverable.
  • Maintain data integrity between CAD, PLM, ERP, and manufacturing systems.
  • Coordinate deployment of process improvements and system enhancements.


Vendor & Contract Management

  • Manage relationships with CAD, PLM, and engineering software vendors.
  • Track software maintenance renewals and licensing requirements.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting for engineering software expenditures.
  • Obtain quotes, coordinate purchases, and support contract negotiations.
  • Evaluate software utilization and recommend cost optimization opportunities.


Engineering Data Governance

  • Establish standards for engineering data organization.
  • Ensure drawings, models, and technical records are properly controlled and accessible.
  • Support engineering change management processes from a systems perspective.
  • Assist with audits related to engineering system controls and data management.
  • Ensure systems are compliant with applicable ISO, AS, ITAR/EAR, and FARs regulations or requirements.


User Support & Training

  • Serve as first-line support for engineering software users.
  • Develop and deliver training materials for CAD and PLM systems.
  • Create user guides, procedures, and best-practice documentation.
  • Support new employee onboarding for engineering software systems.
  • Work closely with engineering leadership to identify and address user needs.


Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to automate engineering workflows.
  • Support digital transformation initiatives within Engineering.
  • Research emerging technologies and recommend process improvements.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects involving engineering systems and data integration.


Required skills and qualifications:

Education

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Information Systems, CAD Technology, or related field.


Experience

  • 3-7+ years of experience supporting engineering software systems.
  • Experience administering Creo, Windchill, DDM, or equivalent CAD/PDM/PLM systems.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or product development environment.
  • Experience managing software licensing and vendor relationships.


Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Creo Parametric.
  • Experience with Windchill, Teamcenter, Vault, SolidWorks PDM, or similar platforms.
  • Understanding of engineering drawings, BOM structures, and configuration management.
  • Familiarity with ERP system integration.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience with scripting, automation, or database administration is desirable.


Preferred skills and qualifications:

The successful candidate will have proven experience:

  • PTC Creo administration experience.
  • DDM system administration experience.
  • Experience with ERP integration and master data management.
  • Knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, ITAR/EAR, FARs or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supporting global engineering teams.
  • SQL, reporting, or business intelligence experience.
