Summary

HII Mission Technologies is seeking an experienced Certified Cabling Technician to support the installation, testing, and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems for DoD and federal customers. The ideal candidate holds a BICSI Technician (TECH) or BICSI Installer (INST1/INST2) certification, or a comparable industry credential. This role is responsible for high quality installation of copper and fiber optic infrastructure in alignment with BICSI, TIA, NEC, and DoD standards.

What You Will Do
• Install, terminate, label, and test copper and fiber optic cabling systems
• Build and dress network racks, cable trays, ladder racks, and pathway systems
• Interpret engineering drawings, cable schedules, and project specifications
• Perform continuity, certification, and OTDR testing; generate accurate test reports
• Conduct site surveys and support quality assurance of completed work
• Install telecom room hardware, patch panels, cabinets, and enclosures
• Assist field engineers and project leads with implementation tasks
• Maintain strict compliance with safety protocols and government site requirements
• Document all work performed and support development of as built updates

Minimum Qualifications
• 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
• Must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI
• Current BICSI Technician (TECH) or BICSI Installer (INST1/INST2) certification, or equivalent
• 3-5 years of experience installing structured cabling systems
• Proficiency in terminating and testing copper (Cat5e/6/6A) and fiber (SM/MM)
• Familiarity with Fluke DSX/CertiFiber and OTDR test equipment
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to industry standards

Preferred Requirements
• Experience supporting DoD or federal installations
• OSHA 10/30 or equivalent safety training
• Knowledge of DoD UFC communications standards
• Experience with both inside plant (ISP) and outside plant (OSP) cabling environments
• Knowledge of DoD UFC communications standards
• Experience with inside and outside plant cabling environments

Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces as required
