Full Job Description
Eaton's Electrical Sector is currently seeking a Buyer to join our team. This position is based onsite at our Santa Ana, CA facility.

Position Overview:

The Buyer is a critical member of the Supply Chain team that supports daily procurement activities, manages supplier relationships and on-time delivery, and focuses on building a cost-effective on-demand supply chain. The Buyer also ensures that Purchasing specifications, policies and procedures are adhered to within the company. The Buyer's decisions are of financial significance to the company and erroneous decisions or recommendations may result in failure of the company to achieve major goals and objectives.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $82,000 - $120,000 a year.

What you'll do:

  • Reviews MRP/Purchasing queue, safety stock and consignment signals on a daily basis.
  • Purchases and negotiates materials, equipment and supplies from vendors.
  • Processes daily procurement requirements into purchase orders.
  • Monitors supplier performance and reports KPI's on a monthly basis.
  • Manages supplier demand planning models to ensure effective inventory replenishment and stock levels
  • Supports or oversees inventory and delivery accuracy.
  • Manages and resolves problems due to delivery, quality and pricing in raw materials in a timely manner.
  • Understands upstream and downstream stakeholder requirements to ensure no interruptions.
  • Ensures system information accuracy and timeliness.
  • Informs other departments of all relevant information regarding shortages in materials, supplier movements, delivery lead times and individual supply situations.
  • Attends daily Gemba walks to sustain effective working relationships with other departments.
  • Develops strategic sourcing plans and continuous improvement actions.
  • Maintains and/or develops supplier relationships.
  • Evaluates vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers.
  • Complies with all applicable U.S export control and security regulations.
  • Complies with and ensures department compliance with Company health, safety and environmental policies.


Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree and one year experience in buying or manufacturing or, in lieu, an associate's degree with 3 years' experience related to buying or manufacturing experience or, in lieu, a High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution with 5 years' experience in buying or manufacturing
• Minimum one (1) year experience using an ERP or MRP system
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without out company sponsorship, now or in the future
• No relocation is being offered for this role. All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of the Santa Ana, CA location. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business administration, engineering, or other business or supply chain
• 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing or buying function in a manufacturing setting
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Understanding of lean concepts
