Full Job Description
Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Senior Buyer to join our procurement team. The Senior Buyer will manage Delasco's procurement activities to ensure customer orders are fulfilled on-time and in-full while optimizing on-hand inventory. They will maintain strong relationships with vendors and place purchase orders to meet organizational goals. The Senior Buyer will work closely with various departments to align purchasing strategies with company goals.

Duties
  • Place purchase orders with key vendors and suppliers to meet customer expectations for on-time delivery and organizational goals for COGS, inventory turns, and cash.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to purchasing and/or vendor management.
  • Participate in brainstorming and problem solving to reduce backorders and surplus.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with our vendors and suppliers, while building a strong relationship.
  • Assist with reconciling receiving and invoice discrepancies.
  • Ensure all shipments are executed using the most economical methods.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Purchasing or Supply Chain Management preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years experience in wholesale or Manufacturing Purchasing.
  • Extensive knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Strong preference for expert knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains or at least 2 other ERP platforms.
  • Knowledge of wholesale distribution and manufacturing.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exhibit independent thinking and initiative.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment on significant matters.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to effectively speak in front of groups, co-workers and vendors
  • Effective negotiating skills.
