The UW Medicine Department of Analytics for Quality, Population Health and Value supports a wide range of data collection, analysis, and reporting activities across UW Medicine. UW Medicine’s Chief Quality Office, Department of Analytics for Quality, Population Health and Value is a shared services organization that supports all of UW Medicine. Value Based Analytics is responsible for providing analytics support in value-based contracting by facilitating data workflows and creating tools and reporting that facilitate and support strategic decision making and internal goal setting and tracking.
This position reports to the UW Medicine Director of Analytics for Quality, Population Health, and Value and plays an integral role in data management, reporting process improvement, and operational support. The position works closely across UW Medicine’s healthcare system, collaborating with population health affiliated departments, contracting, IT Services and Epic departments, UW Medicine stakeholders, and external organizations.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides data programming and analytics in support of physician and system leadership, encompassing quality, financial, and utilization reporting, population health tools, value measurement, and ad hoc analyses
- Apply expert-level SQL database development skills, including SSRS/SSIS and other Microsoft platform technologies, to deliver high-quality reporting solutions and dashboards
- Designs, codes, tests, and maintains BI/reporting and analytics objects using industry best practices
- Develops, cleanses, prepares, validates, and distributes reports and files from multiple data sources
- Ensures established requirements are met and that coordination of timely reporting is completed
- Develops, manages, and maintains requirements and specification documents (e.g., design documents, report inventory, promotion requests)
- Creates tools for understanding populations, measuring value and impact, and other ad hoc analytical purposes
- Drives operational effectiveness through stakeholder communication, cross-functional collaboration, process design, and governance activities that sustain the Value-Based Analytics program
- Designs, implements, and optimizes standard reporting and operational procedures for Value-Based Analytics, Quality Assurance
- Maintains the integrity of data infrastructure through workflow documentation, process optimization, and alignment with ACO and value-based care best practices.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science / Data Analytics; equivalent experience can substitute for the degree requirement
5+ years' experience include the following
- Advanced SQL, SSIS, SSRS, ETL, data modeling, and EDW design, experience working with large volumes of data, and proficiency with BI and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau)
- Healthcare industry experience with in-depth knowledge of healthcare data and workflow
- Advanced analytic skills and the ability to independently analyze problems, present options, and implement solutions
- Demonstrated skills in the area of business system analysis, operational support, and process improvement
Desired qualifications include:

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details
Pay Range Minimum:
$102,000.00 annual
Pay Range Maximum:
$142,980.00 annual
