Overview
The Business Systems Analyst serves as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to assigned business areas within Hampton Lumber. By developing a deep understanding of business processes,objectives, challenges, priorities, and long-term goals, this role helps business leadersidentifyopportunities to improve processes, reduce friction, and achieve desired outcomes through the effective use of business systems and technology solutions.
Operating at the intersection of business and technology, the Business Systems Analyst is not a technical development role, but rather a key liaison between business stakeholders and IT. The successful candidatemaintainsa strong understanding of Hampton's technology capabilities and digital strategy while serving as the voice of the business throughout the solution lifecycle. Working closely with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and technical teams, the Business Systems Analyst ensures technology initiatives are aligned with business priorities and deliver meaningful business value.

The Business Systems Analyst develops trusted relationships with business leaders, stakeholders, and end users, taking an empathy-based approach to understanding needs, challenges, and opportunities.
This role requires periodic travel to office, manufacturing, operational, and field locations as needed to build andmaintainbusiness relationships, gain firsthand knowledge of business processes, and support projects and initiatives across the organization.
This position reports to the Business Systems Manager and works closely with business leaders, subject matter experts, vendors, technical teams, and project stakeholders throughout Hampton Lumber.

Responsibilities
Business Partnership & Strategic Alignment
- Develop a deep understanding of assigned business functions, including theirobjectives, priorities, processes, challenges, performance measures, and strategic direction.
- Build trusted relationships with leaders andemployeesacross supported business areas.
- Take an empathy-based approach when engaging stakeholders,seekingto understand both operational realities and desired business outcomes.
- Serve as a trusted advisor who helps business leaders evaluate opportunities, priorities, risks, and potential solutions.
- Maintain awareness of Hampton's technology capabilities andidentifyopportunities where systems, automation, analytics, or process improvements can create business value.
- Proactivelyidentifyopportunities to improve business processes, efficiency, user experience, and organizational effectiveness.
- Advocateforbusiness needs while balancing enterprise standards, strategicobjectives, and technical constraints.
- Identifyand proactively remove sources of friction within business processes, technology solutions, projects, and stakeholder interactions to improve efficiency, collaboration, and business outcomes.
Business Systems Support
- Act as a functional subject matter resource forkeybusiness systemsand applications.
- Assistin systemtesting, implementationplanning, and ongoing support activities.
- Troubleshoot business system issues and coordinate with technical teams, vendors, and stakeholders to resolve problems.
- Support system upgrades, enhancements, integrations, and new implementations.
- Ensure business systems are properly documented and understood by end users.
Solution Design & Delivery
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to define desired outcomes, success criteria, and measurable business value.
- Gather, document, andvalidatebusiness requirements through interviews, workshops, observation, and ongoing stakeholder engagement.
- Partner with technical teams to design solutions that meet business needs whilealigning withenterprise architecture, supportability, and long-term strategic goals.
- Represent business interests throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring stakeholder perspectives are consistently understood and considered.
- Communicate progress, decisions, trade-offs, and risks to stakeholders throughout solution development and implementation.
- Facilitate user acceptance testing and validation activities to ensure solutions achieve desired business outcomes.
- Gather feedback following implementation and help identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
- Facilitate discussions between business users and technical teams.
- Communicate clearlyregardingrequirements, priorities, risks, and project status.
- Support training efforts and help users adopt new systems and capabilities.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, ora relatedfield, or equivalent experience.
- 3 6 years of experience in business analysis, business systems support, process improvement, or related technology roles.
- Strong business analysis skills: ability to understand how systems, processes, and people interact.
- Experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with enterprise business applications and integrated business processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into business language and business needs into technical requirements.
- Experiencefacilitatingdiscussions with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications
- ExperiencewithERP, CRM, financial, operational, manufacturing, inventory,logistics, human resources, or reporting systems.
- Knowledge of business process analysis and process mapping methodologies.
- Experience with project delivery methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall.
- Experience incommodity trading,manufacturing, forestry products, construction, distribution, or operations-focused environments.
- Familiarity with data analytics, reporting platforms, and system integrations.
