This role connects financial performance, pipeline quality, product group performance, market trends, and growth priorities so leadership can make better decisions on where to focus resources and how to grow the business.
The position will support both the market-facing sales view and the product group view of the business, helping reconcile targets, track performance, and identify opportunities or risks across regions, customers, and product lines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the annual budget and long-range plan process by aligning market-facing sales targets with product group contribution targets.
• Monitor and assess external market trends, industry articles, project announcements, customer activity, competitor moves, regulatory changes, fuel specification changes, air quality requirements, and refining product flow shifts.
• Identify priority geographies, customers, and market segments where Elessent should increase focus based on regulatory drivers, capital projects, customer investment, or market changes.
• Conduct market sizing, competitive intelligence, installed-base analysis, and share-of-wallet reviews.
• Build business cases for growth initiatives, including market potential, financial impact, resource needs, risks, and execution path.
• Track progress against approved growth initiatives and help translate long-range plan concepts into actionable workstreams.
• Support monthly and quarterly business reviews with sales leaders, product managers, execution leaders, and finance.
• Prepare clear analysis, summaries, and recommendations for VP-level and leadership discussions.

• 2-7 years of experience in strategy consulting, management consulting, financial analysis, business analysis, market analysis, commercial analysis, corporate development, sales operations, or similar analytical role.
• Experience in industrial, refining, petrochemical, chemical, engineering, technology licensing, manufacturing, or project-based businesses preferred.
• Experience with analyzing business performance metrics, including revenue, margin, backlog, pipeline, signings, budget, forecast, market research, or long-range planning data preferred.

Skills and Capabilities
• Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to synthesize financial data, market trends, regulatory developments, project announcements, and customer activity into practical business insights.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is required.
• Experience with CRM, ERP, BI/reporting tools, market databases, or financial planning systems preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to explain complex information clearly to senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
