Department:Assistant Vice Chancellor for Business Services
Department's Website:Summary of Job Duties:The Business Solutions and Support Services Director provides leadership and management for a team that performs budgeting, accounting, and finance activities across all fund types for a variety of campus customers, including customers at the Vice Chancellor level. The Director provides business solutions and support for on-going operations, ERP (Workday) activities, policy and process updates/changes, audit coordination and response, staff development, and other duties as assigned.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job function of this job, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education
- At least five years relevant business or related work experience
- At least two years supervisory experience
- Demonstrated expert level Excel experience
- Demonstrated expert level data analysis experience
- Experience with performing core business processes (budgeting, financial analysis, management reporting, travel, accounts payable, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance from an accredited institution of higher education
- Master's degree in business or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education
- At least seven years accounting or finance or related business work experience
- At least five years supervisory experience
- Experience with Power BI or similar data analysis tools
- Public accounting experience
- CPA or similar professional certification
- Workday or other major ERP experience
- Experience working in higher education
- Experience implementing shared service operating models and business process optimization
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:- Knowledge of finance/accounting business processes/best practices
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of business principles and practices
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Superior attention to detail; with the ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports
