Position Title Business Process Analyst
Position Summary The Business Process Analyst (BPA) supports Applied Research through collaboration, operational excellence, and digital transformation by analyzing business processes, creating detailed documentation of required business outcomes, designing the optimum process techniques such as Lean Six Sigma, and integrating appropriate technology to streamline the process.
The BPA will work collaboratively with the Division of Applied Research
Position Responsibilities Project Coordination- Act as a lead for business projects or parts of larger programs using project management practices and tools
- Lead meetings, presentations and discussions with staff and students at all levels of the Polytechnic
- Manage project timelines, scope, and deliverables
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure projects are executed and are aligned with RDP's vision and strategic plan
- Coordinate business change management activities
- Advises on project prioritization for continuous improvement initiatives
Business Process and Design- Lead and manage requirement gathering initiatives and analysis working with Polytechnic, Applied Research, stakeholders and the technical team.
- Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies and tools to design and document improved business processes
- Identify opportunities for business process and technology improvements
- Design the digital customer experience to support Student, client and Staff success
- Create high quality documentation for design specifications and as-is process flows
- Ensure processes are compliant with legal and policy requirements
- Analyze business requirements originating from Applied Research's strategy, business plans, and internal/external clients and translate those requirements into business processes
- Provide recommendations to enhance established processes and procedures
- Ensure updates and changes to business processes are reflected in training programs, software licenses, and resources
- Use data to understand and resolve complex business challenges and provide timely insights
Technical Solution Design- Adapt the results of business process analysis to specific functional requirements of automated solutions
- Explore industry automation and technology solutions to apply to business solutions
- Map business processes and requirements against technical solutions
- Liaise between business teams and the technical team to provide excellent solutions.
- Train and coordinate with business process owners and digital champions from Applied Research
- Work closely with the Applied Research team to document and translate business requirements into solutions and ensures business requirements are built to stakeholders' expectations
Service and Client Support- Maintain assigned technical solutions
- Troubleshoot problems with technology solutions
- Support client incidents as needed
Required Qualifications Two (2) years of post-secondary training, completion of a community college certificate including trades apprenticeships or equivalent. Program is required for this role: Computer Science or Programming, Business Administration or similar.
Preferred Qualifications Four (4) year undergraduate degree, or three (3) year undergraduate degree plus one full additional year of university in a related program representing four years of study or equivalent. Program is required for this role: Computer Science or Programming, Business Administration or similar.
Salary or Hourly? Hourly
Salary $44.17 per hour
Benefits and Compensation Information An additional 15% of the hourly rate in lieu of vacation, statutory holidays and benefits.
