BUSINESS OPERATIONS MANAGER (STARLNK GROWTH)

Starlink is a revolutionary satellite constellation, delivering low-latency broadband internet around the world - bringing an unprecedented opportunity to significantly impact communities, businesses, and governments worldwide. The North American Business Development team is seeking aBusiness Operations Manager to serve as a pivotal partner to help define where the team focuses and how it executes. This role owns the operational backbone of North American Business Development initiatives, while also driving foundational strategy work that shapes the team's long-term direction. It's vital that Starlink deals and partnerships be optimized for speed and for scale. This role requires deep program management and business operations expertise, comfort working with both people and data, and fluency in financial analysis, reporting, and the day-to-day mechanics that make Starlink business development initiatives run.

The ideal candidate combines strong program management, business operations, and chief-of-staff capabilities with strategic rigor and long-term vision. RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Own the operationalization of existing and upcoming business development initiatives, driving program management, deal pipeline tracking, cross-functional coordination, and execution discipline so initiatives move with speed and scale
  • Build and maintain the inner workings of deal constructs and third-party integrations: tracking systems, reporting cadences, financial and operational metrics, accountability frameworks, and status visibility for leadership
  • Partner closely with business development vertical leads, product, marketing, engineering, finance, and legal to ensure clear ownership, timely execution, and clean handoffs from opportunity through launch and scale
  • Collect, synthesize, and surface customer, channel, and internal feedback to influence operational excellence and optimize deal tracking of the Business Development team
  • Conduct new vertical research, develop big-bet hypotheses, and perform structured assessments of target partners and channels to inform team prioritization and resource allocation
  • Report on progress of strategy and operations initiatives, presenting insights, risks, and recommendations directly to Starlink leadership
  • Support outreach, intake, and qualification of strategic opportunities; synthesize findings into clear recommendations for the Business Development team
  • Drive continuous improvement of team processes, tools, and operating rhythms to increase throughput, clarity, and accountability across growth workstreams
  • Conduct ongoing market and competitive analysis to identify consumer trends, channel opportunities, and emerging technologies relevant to Starlink's ecosystem

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in business operations, program management, strategy, consulting, investment banking, or related roles involving complex cross-functional initiatives
  • 3+ years of experience driving execution of revenue or growth-oriented programs, including tracking, reporting, and operationalizing commercial initiatives

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Proven background in program management, business operations, or chief-of-staff roles supporting high-growth or commercial teams in technology, telecommunications, utilities, or subscription-based services
  • Experience in management consulting or investment banking, with demonstrated ability to structure problems, build rigorous analyses, and drive recommendations to action
  • Familiarity with business development or partnerships in consumer technology, telecommunications, or adjacent sectors - valuable but secondary to operationalizing deal flow and strategic strengths
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and data fluency; comfort with accounting concepts, KPI design, and building clear reporting for leadership
  • Demonstrated success operationalizing complex commercial or product initiatives and driving them from concept through execution and scale
  • Independently motivated with a track record of project ownership, prioritization under ambiguity, and delivering measurable results
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; able to work effectively with both technical and commercial stakeholders
  • MBA or master's degree with a business or technical focus preferred

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25-50% of the time to customer locations and other SpaceX locations as required

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range:
Level 3: $120,000.00 - $175,000.00

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year. Employees in Washington State accrue paid sick time in compliance with state and federal law. Company shuttles are offered to employees for roundtrip travel from select Seattle locations to the SpaceX Redmond office Monday to Friday.
