Reports to: Business Operations Lead
Location: New York City
In-office: 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
Role OverviewWe are looking for an outstanding Business Operations Associate / Senior Associate to contribute to the day-to-day GTM operations and growth of the company. Reporting to Axial's Business Operations Lead, you will work closely with the VP of Operations and leadership team across go-to-market operations, GTM enablement, data analysis, workflow automation, and special projects.
The primary focus of this role will be enabling Axial's go-to-market team. The GTM team is Axial's sales and account management organization, responsible for winning new business and growing existing relationships across our sell-side, buy-side, and business owner member segments.
You will serve as a key link between Business Operations and GTM, helping align teams, improve day-to-day execution, and move important initiatives forward. Your work will span process improvement, reporting, strategic targeting, campaign support, data analysis, and tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, and Gong. You will also have regular opportunities to experiment with AI, automation, and tools such as n8n, Zapier, Clay, and Claude Code/Cowork.
Success in this role means making Axial's GTM organization more productive, data-informed, and operationally consistent. Over time, you will be expected to identify opportunities independently and own solutions from diagnosis through implementation.
Axial is a fast-paced environment. It is important that you quickly develop broad subject-matter expertise, take ownership of initiatives, and demonstrate sound judgment, high ethical standards, and an ability to collaborate across teams. The core of this role is someone who is enthusiastic, a quick learner, a critical thinker, and a proactive source of new ideas.
Responsibilities- GTM Systems Enablement: Use systems such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, Gong, and related tools to strengthen Axial's go-to-market motions. Improve configuration, internal training, workflows, and data hygiene to increase the accuracy, efficiency, and consistency of day-to-day GTM execution.
- Workflow Automation: Build and maintain automations that improve productivity and create more consistent GTM processes. Use tools such as n8n, Zapier, Clay, and Claude Code/Cowork to connect systems, enrich data, streamline recurring work, and support scalable execution across the GTM organization.
- Reporting: Improve visibility across the member journey, from acquisition and onboarding through engagement and retention, by building and maintaining robust reporting. Your work will help teams better understand performance, identify opportunities, and deliver a more consistent and valuable member experience.
- Data Analysis: Use data to answer important business questions and support strategic decision-making across our go-to-market efforts. Identify meaningful trends, develop actionable insights and recommendations, and present findings clearly to facilitate informed discussion.
- Strategic Targeting and Campaign Operations: Support Axial's growth by building targeted account and contact lists that support successful outreach campaigns. Analyze market segments to identify and prioritize high-value opportunities across industries, geographies, and member cohorts. You will also contribute to campaign strategy and the writing of outreach messaging.
- Special Projects: Own cross-functional projects that require strong analysis, thoughtful project management, and creative problem-solving. Evaluate new tools and approaches, improve existing processes, and support strategic initiatives that strengthen Axial's execution and operational efficiency.
Qualifications- Experience: 2-5 years of professional experience in Business or GTM Operations, finance, consulting, or another analytical and execution-oriented role. We will also consider exceptional candidates from sales or customer success who have demonstrated strong analytical ability, operational ownership, and cross-functional problem-solving.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including formulas, data manipulation, and analysis. Experience with SQL, business intelligence tools, APIs, or other technical tools is a plus, but not required.
- GTM Systems: Experience with Salesforce, GTM systems, workflow automation, or similar business tools is preferred but not required. More important is demonstrated technical curiosity and a track record of quickly learning unfamiliar systems.
- Analytical Horsepower: Able to structure ambiguous problems, analyze complex information, identify the most important insights, and translate them into practical recommendations and actions.
- Business Judgment: Able to understand business objectives, evaluate tradeoffs, prioritize effectively, and make thoughtful decisions without requiring constant direction.
- Project Management and Ownership: Demonstrated ability to independently plan and execute projects from definition through implementation and follow-through. Comfortable managing multiple priorities, communicating progress, and surfacing blockers early.
- Communication and Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand stakeholder needs, present ideas clearly, and work effectively across teams.
- Past Performance: A track record of exceptional performance, increasing responsibility, and consistently high-quality execution.
