  • Leverage PitchBook, Capital IQ, Bloomberg Law, and other premium databases to surface financial data, deal flow, ownership structures, market trends, litigation history, and outside counsel intelligence relevant to the firm's practice areas and target clients.
  • Proactively monitor clients, target prospects, competitors, and relevant industries, regulatory developments, and economic conditions, and communicate key developments through timely alerts, summaries, and intelligence briefings.
  • Monitor lateral attorney movement, practice group trends, and competitive talent dynamics across the legal industry; deliver timely intelligence to Recruiting and firm leadership to support expansion planning and opportunity identification.
  • Support the Recruiting team with due diligence on lateral attorney candidates, synthesizing internal data and external sources into concise, executive-level profiles that inform hiring decisions.
  • Identify trends, transactions, and market developments likely to generate demand for the firm's services.
  • Support conference and event strategy by delivering attendee intelligence, executive profiles, investor identification, and prospect segmentation to optimize relationship-building and pipeline development.

Business Development Strategy Support
  • Partner with BD colleagues and other requestors to clarify research needs, scope assignments, and deliver work product in the format most useful to the audience.
  • Contribute intelligence and supporting analysis for key-client planning, cross-selling, opportunity identification, and pursuit decisions.
  • Contribute to the identification of whitespace opportunities, high-value prospects, and relationship pathway strategies that support revenue generation and client retention.
  • Help develop and maintain recurring intelligence products, including target lists, market briefs, client-growth summaries, and monitoring reports.
  • Coordinate with Knowledge Management, Finance, Marketing Operations, and other business teams as needed to gather data and support more complex requests.

Research Tools, Analytics, and AI-Assisted Workflow
  • Use Excel, Power BI, and similar tools to organize information, identify patterns, and create visuals that make intelligence deliverables clearer and more actionable.
  • Use approved AI-assisted research tools and generative AI applications, where appropriate, to accelerate research, summarize information, and improve workflow efficiency, while validating all outputs for quality, accuracy, confidentiality, and relevance.
  • Document effective prompts, workflows, and research approaches, and share practical tips with the team to support consistent quality.
  • Contribute to the ongoing evaluation and adoption of new research tools, AI platforms, data sources, and technology solutions that strengthen the department's intelligence capabilities.
  • Support the consistent and responsible use of approved AI tools within Marketing & Business Development by documenting effective workflows and applying quality-control standards.
