SUMMARY

The Business Intelligence Lead will play a hands-on role in overseeing the organization's BI strategy, driving the development and implementation of BI solutions to support data-driven decision-making, and overseeing a small team of BI Developer/Analysts. This person will be focused on creating new BI solutions using the Microsoft SQL Server BI Stack (Power BI, DAX queries, Power Query, etc.), as well as optimizing existing BI solutions. The BI Lead will work across the organization to understand the business requirements and use their knowledge of BI to design insightful solutions that transform data into actionable insights. He/She will oversee the structure, architecture, and integrations for all things BI and will govern the platform as his/her team builds out enterprise wide, high-performing reports that allow the business to access and make strategic use of the data.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to understand their information needs, create reports and dashboards, and leverage BI tools to enhance data accessibility and usability within the organization.
  • Ensure the effective collection, analysis, and visualization of data to support decision-making processes, identify business trends, and optimize performance across the BI landscape.
  • Manage the design, development, and maintenance of reports using Power BI and other reporting and data transformation tools.
  • Conduct training and mentorship for team members and end users on BI tools.
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret large datasets from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform strategic business decisions.
  • Guide data governance and ensure data accuracy, integrity, consistency, and validity.
  • Maintain and improve existing reports that are deemed business critical.
  • Compile and contribute to maintaining accurate supporting documentation .
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies around data and advanced analytics.


REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION & KNOWLEDGE:
  • Strong business and technical acumen to be able to interact with business stakeholders and translate business needs into visual reports.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in a variety of data analysis tools and data visualization platforms within the Microsoft stack.
  • Strong ability to interpret complex data, identify patterns, and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business intelligence or data analytics.
  • Knowledge of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
  • Focus on learning to stay updated with the latest data analytic tools, techniques and industry trends.
  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration and liaising with development teams using Agile methodology.
