Job Description:

Role Summary

The Business Intelligence & Insights Analyst transforms data into actionable business insights that support transformational growth and customer experience within Caterpillar's Building Construction Products division. This role develops analytical solutions, reporting, and geospatial intelligence to help stakeholders make informed decisions while driving adoption of business intelligence tools and data-driven practices across the organization.

What You Will Do (Job Duties):

  • Generate actionable business insights through analysis of retail, dealer, customer, and operational performance data to support strategic decision-making and growth initiatives


  • Develop, maintain, and enhance business intelligence solutions, including Power BI dashboards, scorecards, reporting tools, and performance metrics that improve visibility and accountability across the organization.


  • Conduct geospatial and market opportunity analysis to identify growth opportunities, optimize market coverage, support facility planning, and inform dealer network strategies


  • Partner with business stakeholders to define analytical requirements, translate business needs into data solutions, and communicate findings through clear, actionable recommendations


  • Drive analytics adoption and user enablement by providing training, support, documentation, and best practices that increase utilization of reporting and analytical tools.


  • Support cross-functional transformation initiatives through data analysis, measurement frameworks, process improvement, and automation efforts that increase organizational efficiency and scalability

Top Candidates will also have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Business, Economics, Statistics, Geography, Information Systems, Data Science, Marketing Analytics, or related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, GIS, data visualization, or related disciplines.
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, and data visualization tools.
  • Experience with ArcGIS, Esri products, or other GIS platforms.
  • Experience supporting dealer, retail, sales, marketing, or customer experience organizations.
  • Knowledge of customer journey analytics, channel analytics, or retail performance metrics.
  • Experience working with large, complex datasets and multiple data sources.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled analytics and automation solutions


Additional Information:

  • This position is in Cary, NC
  • Relocation assistance is available

  • Travel Requirements: less than 10%
  • Work-site model: 5 days a week in office


Summary Pay Range:

$112,710.00 - $169,060.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
