Full Job Description
Goldberg Segalla, a dynamic and collaborative law firm with a national presence, seeks a highly motivated and organized individual to join its team as a Business Intelligence Developer in its Buffalo, NY office. The Business Intelligence Developer will be responsible for maintaining the existing portfolio of reports and dashboards as well as developing new work as requested, producing excellent results using both SSRS and Power BI. Other responsibilities include support and maintenance of our SQL server infrastructure.
Responsibilities:

Development

  • Develop expertise in all Firm application SQL table structure and relationships and become an expert in providing data analysis and addressing issues with data integrity and reconciliations.
  • Develop specifications for enhancements/customizations and integrations requested by management, and the needs of business groups.
  • Gain familiarity with various development tools utilized by Firm
  • Execute customizations and integrations and perform quality assurance and regression testing of all modifications to Firm applications in test and production environment.
  • Maintaining detailed records, documenting procedures, assumptions, workflows, methodologies and sources of information used during all analytical tasks.
  • Strong TSQL development experience including writing stored procedures, triggers, data modeling and ETL.
  • Strong hands on experience using Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or greater suite of development tools. (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SSIS Catalog)
  • Understanding of SQL Server security and management tools.
  • Full life cycle development including design, development, implementation, documentation, training, and on-going support for enterprise level applications.
  • Use integrated development environments and version control systems Visual Studio and SQL Server Management Studio

Support/Maintenance

  • Develop expertise in Firm integration tools, design integration logic and provide second level support resolving issues with integrations.
  • Conduct day-to-day support and technical administration of systems, reports, integrations and associated modules.
  • Responsible for monitoring the performance of integration and automation taking corrective action to identify opportunities to optimize and improve system performance.
  • Escalate problems not resolved within reasonable time limit to infrastructure and management team and communicate affected users of the situation promptly.

Project Management

  • Ability to participate and contribute on internal and external/vendor project teams for initiatives at a variety of levels.
  • Assume project management responsibilities on selected projects.
  • Review specifications for completeness and accuracy.
  • Create, track and update all project tasks and continually inform the department and management of the project's status.
  • Work with management and users to evaluate and clarify requests.
  • Perform an ongoing analysis of departmental development needs and make recommendations for efficient use of Firm applications.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Benefits:

The annualized salary range for this position is $105,000 to $115,000. Actual pay may be adjusted based on experience and other job related factors permitted by law. This position also offers bonuses, and a full benefits package.
