DESCRIPTION

The Altman Clinical and Translational Research Institute (ACTRI) is an NIH-funded Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) institution that provides the infrastructure to support high-quality and innovative translational research. The Business Intelligence Analyst supports units by monitoring performance metrics, interpreting dashboards, preparing reports, and recommending continuous improvement opportunities. Helps with evaluation of organizational programs and initiatives by developing performance measurement frameworks, analyzing outcomes, assessing organizational impact, and presenting evidence-based recommendations that inform strategic planning, continuous improvement, and executive decision-making.

Technical Support: implements data validation, quality checks, and monitoring processes to ensure data integrity and accuracy; support measurement of outcomes across Units and programs; expertise in data visualization (e.g. Tableau); assists with presentations and reports for leadership; assists with creation and maintenance of technical documentation (SOPs); provides admin support for Units (e.g. Monday.com); recommends and implements process improvements based on data insights and system usage patterns; and establishes and tracks KPIs and performance metrics for programs and systems.

Operational Support: develops SOPs for user training and support; gathers requirements for system/process improvements; and provides project management and other support as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Seven years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus three years of related experience/training.
  • Thorough knowledge of business intelligence functions, analytics, industry standards and best practices.
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant internal databases, BI applications and tools. Ability to produce high-quality reports and documentation.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage complex information, assess problems, and develop and effective solutions.
  • Detail oriented, with ability to manage time and organize competing priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information in a clear, concise manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with a broad range of professional and technical staff.
  • Proven ability to serve as a technical resource providing advice and counsel on business intelligence issues.
  • Ability to analyze complex datasets and systems issues and develop scalable solutions.
  • Ability to translate data into actionable insights and influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to use programming languages and data tools to design, develop, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines and workflows.
  • Advanced experience designing, implementing, and managing large-scale online survey systems (e.g., REDCap, Qualtrics), including complex branching logic, data validation, participant tracking, and integration with data pipelines for analysis and reporting.
  • Experience designing program evaluation frameworks and outcome measurement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of implementation science, continuous quality improvement, and performance improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to perform statistical analyses and interpret findings for non-technical audiences
  • Experience translating operational and research data into measurable organizational impact.
  • Ability to develop executive-level scorecards and performance reporting aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Experience measuring return on investment (ROI), value, and operational effectiveness of programs and services.
  • Strong facilitation skills for stakeholder engagement, requirements gathering, and evaluation planning.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $90,600 - $166,400 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $43.39 - $79.69

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
