Full Job Description
Applicants must be within driving distance to our Chattanooga, TN office to be considered for this role and have the ability to commute to the office a minimum of three days per week.

A day in the life.

As an Business Insurance Unit Leader, you will:

Operational Efficiency and Team Management:
  • Oversee the distribution of workloads among team members to ensure balanced account management in conjunction with Managing Director.
  • Implement strategies for proactive hiring and training to address capacity issues and knowledge transfer.
  • Monitor team performance and proficiency in key processes, providing support and resources as needed.

Training and Development in collaboration with BI Systems and Technical Training Staff:
  • Identify training needs for both new hires and existing team members, ensuring that training is tailored to individual strengths and roles.
  • Coordinate the facilitation of regular training sessions on compliance, quality control, and best practices.
  • Encourage a spirit of ongoing professional development and mentorship opportunities for team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning.
  • Handle sensitive situations, ensuring that all training programs are comprehensive and relevant to the team's needs.

Compliance and Quality Control:
  • Review regular audits of team performance and processes to ensure adherence to corporate compliance standards.
  • Address audit findings promptly and coordinate with training team to implement corrective actions to improve service delivery.
  • Maintain clear communication with team members regarding compliance expectations and performance metrics.


Periodic / As-Needed Duties:

Performance Reviews:
  • In coordination with the Managing Director, conduct annual performance evaluations for team members, providing constructive feedback and setting development goals.

Team Meetings:
  • Organize and lead team meetings to discuss progress, address challenges, and share best practices.

Collaboration with HR:
  • Work closely with HR to address staffing needs, manage personnel issues, and support recruitment efforts.

Communication with Leadership:
  • Provide updates to senior management on team performance, operational challenges, and resource needs.

Strategic Planning:
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions to align team goals with organizational objectives and identify areas for improvement. One annual on-site meeting in North Atlanta is required.

Crisis Management:
  • Be prepared to address urgent issues as they arise, ensuring that the team remains focused and supported during transitions or challenges.

Feedback Collection:
  • Regularly gather feedback from team members regarding their roles, challenges, and suggestions for improvement.
