GuardMe is looking for a Business Development (Sales) Manager to identify new opportunities, strengthen partner relationships, and support the continued growth of our student health, wellness, and support services across Canadian and global markets.

Key Responsibilities:Business Development- Develop and implement an outreach strategy for prospective Partners in the CRM
- Build and close new business relationships to drive adoption of the GuardMe Wellness Ecosystem
- Maintain current partner contact details, team calendar updates, and other interactions including calls, emails, meetings, and appointments are logged accurately and promptly in the CRM
- Identify new markets, trends, and competitive opportunities to inform growth strategy
- Conduct regular in-person visits to introduce the key purpose, principles and components of the GuardMe Wellness Ecosystem
- Prepare and deliver customized presentations to prospective partners
- Manage the sales pipeline, including opportunity assessment, forecasting, and prioritization in CRM
- Lead and support end-to-end execution of complex RFP processes, including requirements gathering, cross-functional coordination, proposal development, stakeholder alignment, and submission, ensuring high-quality, competitive responses that align with organizational strategy and partner expectations.
- Partner with the VP, Strategic Partnerships to track performance and adjust strategies to meet revenue targets
Relationship (Account) Management- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with institutional partners through proactive communication and consultative support.
- Conduct and lead regular (weekly/bi-weekly/monthly) in-person meetings to review performance, address needs, and strengthen engagement.
- Manage and resolve partner escalations related to service or delivery concerns in a timely manner.
- Serve as a primary point of contact to ensure partner satisfaction, loyalty, and overall program success.
- Implement/maintain a quarterly partner engagement cycle framework including renewal planning, operational reviews, service diagnostics, and annual planning discussions aligned with the academic cycle.
- Proactively identify risks to partner satisfaction or renewal and implement strategies to maintain retention and protect existing business relationships.
Market, Competitor & Sector Intelligence- Continuously monitor customer, market, and competitor activity
- Collaborate with internal teams and Executive leadership to synthesize strategic intelligence that supports positioning, product development, and decision-making
- Partner with external subject matter experts in various sectors to identify emerging trends and help shape growth strategy and innovation
Brand Promotion & Industry Thought Leadership- Represent GuardMe at networking events, conferences, partner meetings, and strategic forums to strengthen brand presence, build relationships, and identify growth opportunities.
- Partner with Marketing to develop and promote marketing campaigns that enhance GuardMe's visibility, reputation, and value proposition
- Leverage subject matter expertise to provide authoritative insights and guidance to partners and the broader education community within proposals, RFP submissions, and presentations to close new business won
- Work collaboratively to drive brand awareness, engagement, and loyalty across all partner segments
- Identify sponsorship opportunities, speaking engagements, and thought leadership opportunities with proven ROI to position GuardMe as a leader in student health and wellness
Knowledge, Licensing & Compliance- Maintain expert knowledge of GuardMe's full suite of products and services
- Obtain and maintain A&S licensing within six months of employment, including all mandatory professional development requirements
- Demonstrate thorough understanding of privacy regulations and protocols for partners and policyholders
- Read, acknowledge, and comply with all policies and procedures of the organization
- Attend privacy and security training during onboarding and annually thereafter
- Immediately notify the Privacy Office of any incident or potential incident involving unauthorized access, use, copying, alteration, or disclosure of personal information
- Work collaboratively with the Privacy Office to gather information, implement corrective actions, and submit privacy incident reports as necessary
- Comply with all business policies and procedures, including annual privacy and security training
- Immediately report any potential or actual privacy or security incidents to the Privacy Office

Experience & EducationProfessional Experience- 5-8+ years of progressive experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships, preferably within healthcare, insurance, education, or related industry.
- Demonstrated success in identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities, with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
- Proven ability to build and maintain long-term, trust-based relationships with institutional, enterprise-level partners as well as small and medium businesses.
- Experience managing full sales cycles, including prospecting, pipeline management, forecasting, and complex RFP processes.
- Strong background in consultative selling, with the ability to translate partner needs into tailored solutions and value-driven proposals.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally (e.g., marketing, operations, product, executive leadership) to deliver high-quality client outcomes.
- Skilled in CRM platforms (e.g., Dynamics) with disciplined pipeline management and reporting practices.
- Experience representing an organization at conferences, events, or industry forums is considered an asset.
Education- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, Health Administration, or a related field.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience will be considered.
Licensing & Professional Development- If not already attained, willingness and ability to obtain and maintain Accident & Sickness (A&S) insurance licensing within six (6) months of hire.
