Description

We are seeking a highly accomplished and results-oriented Business Development Senior Partner with deep subject matter expertise in one of our key disciplines-Financial Crime, Operations, or Customer-to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role, based in the USA, will be instrumental in expanding our consulting practice internationally, while also contributing directly to the delivery of client engagements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Business Development & SME Positioning
Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to drive significant revenue growth of $3 million or more at a 40%+ margin within your area of SME expertise across international markets. Simultaneously, leverage your deep knowledge to position our firm as a thought leader and trusted advisor in your discipline.

2. Client Relationship Management & Expert Consultation
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with C-suite executives and senior leaders at target organizations, both within the USA and internationally, acting as a trusted advisor and providing expert insights into their strategic priorities related to your SME area.
Act as the primary relationship leader for key clients, understanding their long-term ambitions, strategic priorities, and performance metrics.
Serve as the escalation point for client concerns and ensure smooth execution of engagements.

3. Sales and Opportunity Management & Solution Design
Lead the full sales lifecycle for opportunities-from initial engagement and needs assessment to proposal development, negotiation, and contract closure. Critically, leverage your SME knowledge to co-design tailored solutions that address specific client challenges and demonstrate a deep understanding of their business.
Drive account growth through a Protect/Expand/New strategy.
Support contract negotiations, RFPs, and renewals to ensure long-term client value and repeat business.

4. Practice Growth and Development & Knowledge Sharing
Collaborate closely with the leadership team to shape the strategic direction of your SME practice area. Contribute to the development of new service offerings, thought leadership, and internal knowledge sharing initiatives, acting as a key SME resource for the team, with a perspective on both US and international contexts.

5. Market Intelligence and Analysis & Expert Commentary
Stay abreast of the latest trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks within your SME domain across international markets. Utilize this knowledge to identify new business opportunities and provide expert commentary and insights in client engagements and thought leadership materials.

6. Networking and Industry Engagement & SME Representation
Actively participate in industry events, conferences, and professional organizations to build relationships, enhance our firm's visibility, generate new leads, and represent our firm as a leading SME in your discipline.
Attend and speak at industry events, publish thought leadership, and maintain awareness of the competitive landscape.

7. Client Engagement Delivery
Directly contribute to the delivery of consulting engagements, providing expert guidance, insights, and hands-on support to clients in your SME area.
Embed risk-conscious practices across teams to protect both client outcomes and Davies' reputation.

8. Collaboration and Teamwork
Work collaboratively with our consulting teams and other business development professionals, providing subject matter expertise to enhance the quality and impact of our client engagements, often working with globally distributed teams.

9. Sales Forecasting and Reporting
Maintain accurate sales forecasts and provide regular updates on business development activities and progress against targets.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in both business development within the consulting industry and as a subject matter expert in one of the following: Financial Crime, Operations, or Customer.
  • Proven track record of consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets for consulting engagements, with experience closing complex, high-value deals in both the USA and international markets.
  • Demonstrable deep subject matter expertise in one or more of the key disciplines, with the ability to provide expert advice and lead delivery work for both US and international clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a trusted advisor to CxOs and senior stakeholders.
  • Established network of relationships with senior executives and decision-makers within relevant industries, cultivated over a decade of professional engagement.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels across different cultural contexts.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities, coupled with the ability to apply deep subject matter knowledge to solve complex client issues.
  • Extensive experience developing and presenting compelling proposals and presentations, drawing upon your SME credibility.
  • Proven ability to lead and contribute to the delivery of consulting engagements, providing expert guidance and practical solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, often with colleagues located globally.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
  • Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in additional languages is highly desirable.
