Full Job Description
What will you do as a Business Development Manager at Sealed Air?

As a Business Development Manager, you will drive growth of Sealed Air's Food Care Rollstock business by identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities within your assigned territory. You will build and manage a robust sales pipeline, develop relationships with prospective customers, and partner closely with Territory Sales, Marketing, Application Development & Solutions, and Technical Service teams to deliver solutions that create measurable customer value.

This role combines business development with technical credibility. You will leverage your understanding of packaging, rollstock materials, equipment, and customer applications to identify opportunities, support product recommendations and testing, and help customers understand the technical and financial value of Sealed Air solutions.

The ideal candidate is a proactive business development professional who is comfortable opening new doors, navigating complex sales cycles, overcoming pricing objections, and translating technical solutions into clear business value. A strong technical background in packaging or rollstock is highly valued, while strong commercial and business development capabilities from adjacent industries may also be transferable.

Why do we need you?
  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline focused on net-new business opportunities within the Food Care Rollstock portfolio.
  • Identify, qualify, and develop high-value opportunities across the assigned territory.
  • Prospect for new customers and opportunities rather than relying primarily on inbound requests or an existing customer base.
  • Own opportunities from initial prospecting and qualification through customer engagement, solution development, negotiation, and close.
  • Partner with Territory Sales Representatives to identify whitespace opportunities and develop new customer relationships.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for customers and internal teams by connecting technical solutions with customer business needs.
  • Support customer trials, product evaluations, and testing of materials across HFFS and VFFS equipment as needed.
  • Clearly articulate the technical and financial value of Sealed Air solutions and use value-based selling to address pricing objections and competitive pressures.
  • Qualify and quantify value opportunities and communicate business impact effectively to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Application Development & Solutions, Technical Service, and other cross-functional teams to develop and execute growth strategies.
  • Maintain disciplined pipeline management and consistently convert qualified opportunities into profitable new business.
  • Travel approximately 50% overnight to meet with customers, support trials, and develop new opportunities.

What skills will help you succeed?
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or commercial growth, with a demonstrated ability to prospect, create new opportunities, and close business.
  • Strong technical knowledge of packaging, rollstock, flexible packaging, or related manufacturing applications is highly valued.
  • Experience with rollstock materials and/or HFFS and VFFS equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to combine technical knowledge with a strong customer-facing and commercial mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently build a sales pipeline and open new customer relationships.
  • Strong value-selling and negotiation skills, including the ability to overcome pricing objections by clearly communicating customer value.
  • Self-starter mentality with the persistence and resilience required to prospect, open new accounts, and navigate rejection.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across multiple levels of a customer organization.
  • Ability to work effectively through influence and collaboration with Territory Sales, Marketing, Technical Service, and other internal partners.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple opportunities across a broad geographic territory.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50% overnight.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; degree in Packaging or a related technical discipline is a plus.
  • Typically, 5+ years of relevant experience in packaging, rollstock, technical sales, business development, or a related field.
Location: Northwest Arkansas preferred, particularly the Rogers/Springdale area. Candidates located in Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, or Louisiana may also be considered based on business needs and proximity to the assigned territory.
