Full Job Description
SLB is seeking a highly qualified and motivated Business Development Manager - Mining to be accountable for developing the regional marketing strategy, building the opportunity pipeline and delivering revenue growth in the mining sector. They are also responsible for the regional market assessments, pricing and the introduction of products and services in their region. The Business Development Manager is also customer centric, provide solutions to the clients and is a critical link in product development and product and services adaptation to the regional market. They also interact internally with the different SLB business lines to highlight opportunities in the mining sector and provide winning sales strategies and tender support.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the creation and implementation of the marketing/sales plan for all aspects of the mining portfolio in the region.
  • Lead the sales and commercial efforts with the mining clients and connect the different Business lines with potential opportunities within the sector / region.
  • Identify new business opportunities - new markets, new partnerships, new ways to reach existing markets, for the mining sector.
  • Promote portfolio value proposition and business offerings and educate internally of the specificities on the mining sector.
  • Participate in the opportunity management process for critical opportunities.
  • Lead the development of proposal strategies/content/commercial models, both base and alternative cases.
  • Coordinate the technical, operational, commercial and legal risk mitigation/support/reviews for all proposals.
  • Lead proposal/tender management reviews to obtain alignment and approval before proposal submission.
  • Participate in customer proposal/contract negotiations, as needed.
  • Ensure proper handover of associated contracts the business lines.
  • Develop and maintains good customer relationships in the assigned region.
  • Attend conferences, meetings, and industry events to gain insight on industry trends and developments.


Qualifications And Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering, MBA is preferred
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in the mining industry with a minimum of 5 years in a business development, Sales, account management capacity.
  • Proven experience in the mining subsurface domain and ability to convert client needs to opportunity.
  • Deep understanding of the mining players in the region and ability to leverage own network to create opportunities and build a revenue stream.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the pricing models in the mining sector within the region as well as major competitors and hurdles for market entry and encroachments.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and sell the opportunity internally to secure the business lines buy-in.
  • Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in Canada, without sponsorship.
