Business Development Manager, Bemis Health Care
The Business Development Manager, Bemis HealthCare will identify and help develop strategic relationships with channelpartners or potential customers in end markets. This person will be responsiblefor identifying, qualifying, and closing revenue in channels and segments whereBemis Health Care has little or no presence today as well as new OEM andprivate-label partnerships. This position will embrace building a pipeline of undeveloped markets, be comfortable with ambiguity, be curious, follow-through to drive results, and be able to influence and coordinate cross-functional teams. Specific Responsibilities:
SalesResponsibilities:
*Develop BHC's unique selling proposition, which sets us apart from the competition, and builds the BHC brand promise.
*Provide strategic analysis to size the market/opportunity, find the right entry point, build the business case, make recommendations, and then follow through until it produces revenue.
*Develop new markets for Bemis Health Care; identify leads for new business opportunities and execute business plan to secure profitable growth within the white spaces.
*Build and own the pipeline for channels Bemis Health Care does not serve or has less a presence today.
*Negotiate and close new distribution and channel agreements, coordinating pricing, terms, and logistics with the cross functional teams.
*Responsible for generating sales leads and creating sales with a "hunter mentality" focused on prospecting, generating interest, assessing opportunities, leveraging existing accounts, and closing new business.
*Conduct structured account reviews with existing customers to identify expansion opportunities, including additional product lines, adjacent end markets, share gains from competitors, and untapped or non-traditional channels.
OEMResponsibilities:
*Prospect and develop new OEM and private-label opportunities targeting medical device manufacturers whose systems require plastic consumables.
*Serve as the commercial lead on OEM pursuits, working with engineering and operations to scope feasibility, tooling requirements, timelines, and cost before a commitment is made.
*Manage the long-cycle nature of OEM development without losing momentum while maintaining nearer-term opportunities.
OtherResponsibilities:
*Represent Bemis Health Care at select trade shows and industry events, using them as prospecting and market-intelligence tools.
*Gather and synthesize competitive and market intelligence, and stay in tune with changing health care business conditions.
*Support marketing and product management strategies, and lead marketing content creation, including sales collateral, case studies, and trade-show materials, in partnership with product management team.
*Identify product portfolio gaps through interactions with customers.
*Evaluate new product opportunities, whether developed internally or brought forward by external inventors, for commercial viability and strategic fit.
*Monitor competitor products and sales and marketing activities. Document competitor understanding.
*Identify, analyze, and interpret sales data for opportunities/issues to grow sales and improve margin.
*Work closely with the internal team on pricing policy, quote development, and account profitability analysis.
*Support managing BHC key accounts and key facilities to drive organic growth when needed.
*Support continuous improvement activities related to sales, marketing, and customer service.
*Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications:
*Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience.
*Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in business development, sales and commercial roles within the healthcare industry.
*Demonstrated record of opening new accounts, channels, or markets.
*Ability to interact professionally with a wide variety of customers.
*Healthcare industry experience and GPO and/or government purchasing experience preferred.
*Medical background preferred.
*Ability to travel up to 50% within the United States.
*Strategic thinking and data analytical skills required.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Effective presentation skills in front of small and large audiences.
*Ability to handle multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision.
*Exposure to OEM, private-label, or contract-manufacturing sales preferred.
*Experience working with independent or 1099 sales representative networks is preferred.
*Experience creating or coordinating marketing content, such as collateral, case studies, or presentations, preferred.
*Positive, can-do attitude.
