As the Business Development Manager - Amex Offers & Ads, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new advertising opportunities that drive merchant advertiser growth, deliver unique value to Card Members, and generate profitable growth for American Express.

You will build and manage a robust pipeline of new and lapsed merchant advertisers, leveraging a consultative sales approach to understand partner objectives and position Amex Offers & Ads solutions against their marketing and business needs. This role requires developing strong relationships across merchant and agency partners, including senior and C-suite decision makers, and effectively articulating the value of American Express' differentiated data, insights, and advertising capabilities.

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated sales professional with experience in digital advertising and/or media sales, a proven ability to meet and exceed goals, and strong negotiation and closing skills. You will thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and bring a combination of strategic thinking, marketplace expertise, executive presence, and an unwavering will to win.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently meet or exceed goals by growing the Amex Offers & Ads merchant advertiser portfolio and driving new business.
  • Identify, prospect, and build a robust pipeline of new and lapsed merchant advertisers.
  • Own the sales cycle from prospecting and needs assessment through proposal development, negotiation, and close.
  • Utilize consultative selling to uncover advertiser needs, handle objections, and develop compelling Amex Offers & Ads solutions.
  • Build strong, multi-level relationships with merchant advertisers and agency partners, including senior and C-suite decision makers.
  • Leverage industry trends, competitive insights, data, measurement and campaign performance to articulate the value of Amex Offers & Ads and drive increased advertiser investment.
  • Partner cross-functionally to support the successful end-to-end development, launch, and delivery of advertiser campaigns.
  • Ensure adherence to the American Express Code of Conduct and applicable Sales Practices policies, standards, and procedures.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in sales, business development, account development, or a related client-facing role, within digital advertising, media, or performance marketing.
  • Proven track record of building a strong pipeline, meeting or exceeding goals, and successfully negotiating and closing opportunities.
  • Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to uncover advertiser needs, handle objections, and develop compelling solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and influence relationships across multiple levels of an organization, including senior and C-suite executives.
  • Strong understanding of the digital advertising landscape, industry trends, and merchant advertiser needs.
  • Ability to translate data, insights, and complex capabilities into clear and persuasive value propositions.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Highly motivated and results-oriented, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt quickly, and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
