We are currently seeking a Business Development Executive dedicated to leading PLATO's sales and growth efforts in Ottawa Region. The successful candidate will generate revenue by developing new business, expanding existing client relationships, and managing strategic partnerships.
As PLATO's business development leader in the Ottawa market, this individual will help grow our local practice, strengthen our business presence, and serve as an ambassador for the PLATO brand.
Travel to client and partner locations within the Capital Region will be required, with occasional travel elsewhere in Central Canada.Responsibilities- Develop and execute PLATO's sales and growth strategy for Ottawa market.
- Identify and close new opportunities while expanding relationships with existing private-sector and government clients.
- Cultivate and manage strategic business partner relationships.
- Manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, qualification, proposals, negotiation, closing, pipeline management, and forecasting.
- Work with delivery leaders to match client requirements with available PLATO consultants and internal talent.
- Collaborate with recruitment and external partners to source qualified resources when client needs cannot be met internally.
- Lead or contribute to proposals, presentations, requests for proposals, and other strategic sales submissions.
- Represent PLATO at relevant business, government, technology, and industry events, including those focused on Indigenous procurement, and work with marketing to strengthen the local practice and brand.
- Monitor market trends, government priorities, and competitive activity, and share relevant client and market insights with internal teams.
- Maintain accurate client, partner, opportunity, and sales activity records in Salesforce.
What You'll Need- A minimum of 10 years of experience selling IT or professional services to private-sector and government clients, preferably within Ottawa market.
- An established network within Ottawa's business, technology, and government communities.
- A demonstrated record of achieving revenue and business-development targets.
- Experience selling and closing managed services, managed-capacity, staff-augmentation, or project-based engagements.
- Experience working with delivery and recruitment teams to match client requirements with internal and external talent.
- Experience responding to formal requests for proposals and navigating enterprise or government procurement processes.
- Strong relationship-management, presentation, proposal-development, and negotiation skills.
- Experience using Salesforce and Microsoft 365 to manage client interactions, opportunities, forecasts, and sales activities.
