Position Description

Business Development will help to create and build new client relationships while maintaining relationships with current clients along with sponsoring interaction to obtain new projects for the company and members of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  1. Assist Regional VP, PX's and Business Development Executive with strategically identify opportunities with owners, developers, engineering firms, general contractors, and trade partners while collaborating with the Business Development team and the Corporate Leadership Team to create future opportunities in the market.
  2. Partner with VCR Business Unit, Marketing and other relevant departments to oversee project procurement process from project targeting to transition operations.
  3. Appropriately leverage relationship management and needs-based selling to provide clients with a consultative sales process.
  4. Build relationships with industry leaders, associations, and organizations in targeted markets.
  5. Consistently attending client events and ongoing project visits and communication with clients and project teams to ensure ongoing client satisfaction.
  6. Secure meetings with high-level decision-makers.
  7. Manage the business development for all locations with specific targeted prospective clients.
  8. Create, identify revenue opportunities for the VCR Region. Creation of a documented plan with trackable metrics.
  9. Work with the cross regional Business Development teams to create an effective business development strategy that moves prospects through the sales process efficiently and effectively.
  10. Manage current customer relationships and become a strong partner through consultative selling.
  11. Target, identify, and grow the customer base network to ensure continued work and need for EC Electric services in the future.
  12. Demonstrate a "pull through" sales approach that builds demands and specification of EC. A "pull-through" sales approach focuses on generating demand at the end-user or influencer level (e.g., owners, developers, consultants, or engineers) to drive demand back through EC Electric.
  13. Consistently follow compliance and operational procedures within EC Company's budding process.
  14. Take lead as delegated by supervisor on long lead projects.
  15. Help with high level budgets, proposals, and marketing request per Request for Proposal (RFP's)
  16. Attend VCR Specific meetings
  17. Communicate regularly to regional VP, PX and PM's as needed. Creating relationships with internal stakeholders is imperative.
  18. Attend Regional business development social events and company events.


Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university.
  • At least 1-3 years of success within sales and business development or equivalent of education and experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, ViewPoint project management software, Bluebeam and ACCUBID estimating software. Expert level time management and organization skills, with strong verbal and written communication skills and the highest level of professionalism.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • This position requires 40-60% travel with some overnight as needed. Most of the travel will be regionalized to the Valley Coast Region and will require in-person engagement for all client meetings and most internal meetings.


Compensation and Benefits:

Salary range for this position is $80,000-$150,000 annually.

Opportunity for a discretionary year end bonus.
